This I think is honestly my favorite game on the whole site. Beneath the simple setup lies a well balanced little machine.
I loved the game to begin with for the perfect music, it fits perfectly when the missiles just start cascading down upon you and you are desperately trying to shoot down whatever you can.
I originally thought the buildings were terrible until I started to use them in combination and this took an already well balanced difficulty level and made it both easier and harder at the same time. Between trying to scan the skies for those missiles that will hit I find myself having to watch power on the flak & recharge towers, slap the time stopper to get reloaded myself and have that EMP for if I can't stop things.
God I wish more flash games (or non-flash games) could be as simple and balanced as this.
Dammit people, don't you have any sense of decency? The Pixeljam people would like the hats code to not be spread all over like this. It's not like you have to pay at all to play their game.
Heck, I took the file apart, read all the codes, am totally impressed by what they've done and even though us "hackers" are supposedly bad I still won't give the code out and I will donate as they've done an amazing job on this 100% free game.
Put the other codes up but leave out the donation one.
Can't cheat? You can easily cheat, you just have to know how. Wish more people would take the time to make their maze games two things: cheat free and possible to do.
Again, this has to be a tutorial somewhere, I've seen so many games just like this, down to the size of the squares and how it just jumps back instantly.
It was only half decent before, so you added a pseudo 3d effect and some parallax backgrounds. Still half decent, just now annoying on the eyes. Congrats.
So Kurt, make a freaking puzzle with real hints and real logic next time, not just a bunch of random number crap, and leave off all of the subliminal messaging crap.
I might be amused by all of this but it's sickening that you'd stoop to subliminal stuff to get a good rating, instead of just making something good in the first place. 1/5
As if that wasn't bad enough, hidden on every page that uses the open doors shot (main page, help, failed, win) is the text "rate 5", in the same color as the background. And the name of the sound loop that holds the only useful hint? rate5.
Oh, and that thing in the grass people see? It's the word Kurt in two spots, not Rate 5.
So just spam the lower right spot, hoping that it will roll the right random, then when it does go off you click too much and go to his website. Cheap cheap cheap
Personally Kurt, you disgust me. The hints you can play mean nothing whatsoever, the only hint that exists is that very quiet ladies voice in the background, which quietly says "Always click the right lower spot in the middle door." except it says it backwards.
Further annoyances about it: only on door #5 is the button in existence and even if you hit it it's still a random roll between 1-6 (6 being win) to actually win.
This is so not right. Worked my way up past the small guns slowly, using the second assault rifle to get the overkill ability and the laser rifle. Then I get around 700 exp a kill. Every round now I get 50k+ experience making it impossible to die.
Well, the find a green button but they're all green button levels made me mad. Thankfully you left in being able to skip levels so I just skipped it my third time in.
Other than that, it was annoying.
honestly, just what in this game takes so incredibly long to load? Tiny repeat loop, no imported graphics.
It's only 340k, should be a seriously fast load.
So nice to know my little ninja values his hair so much that shots touching the tip of it hurt badly.
Plus, what's the point of getting hurt when attacking a cone thing with your sword? It's your sword, not a piece of your body. It would be nice to have some sort of sound or something to tell when you get hit, along with a moment of invulnerablity, otherwise you can get trapped and die instantly
