Yea, if you follow my advice you'll see that the design of the game isn't flawed, but just that the focus of it isn't what you thought it is. If you see what I'm saying, give it a higher rating (if you haven't already).
A hint on how to win the battles: you don't have to necessarily kill all opposing units; in other words, if you can spam some quick units in the right lane, you can basically kill them in 2 seconds
Is there a bug for the 2nd level? When I attack the first fort, I have to win twice to get it, and the second battle is shown as outskirts against the mine field
On the last boss make sure you have sufficient mana for him to run through your base a couple of times. So 20,000 may be good if you can regenerate really quickly and have a fair amount of orange gems. Then winning is just a matter of time
On the bonus map, even though I have 6 level 1 oil refinery and 2 level 2 refineries, I get less than $500 per turn when I should get at least $720 per turn.

people，you should read the instructions. Notice that:
1) you have 20 game lives. You can check how many you have by pressing "continue" in the world map screen then look at the right; it tells you. Each time you lose, your game life goes down by 1. When it's 0, you lose the entire campaign. So watch out for it
2) For all air and sea battles, each time one of your ship goes all the way to the right, then enemy unit count goes down by 1 and your ship appears on the left side of your screen (near your base when it's sea battle). When the enemy's unit count decreases to 0, you win. So a strategy can be to spawn faster ships/planes to bring their units down. Same thing applies to your unit counts. So beware.
Again, read the instruction before playing, or else of course you'll lose cuz you don't know how to play.
on the sea level, max out your unit max to 190 and put on manual instead of random and only make ships from one lane. Then your ships will deplete their unit counts really quickly. Don't complain about the opponent being super strong; later when you max out everything, your light ships can kill 2 destroyers through colliding. And don't rate the game low because it's hard; just play an easier game.
