people, it's not a rip off of mario. It's a remake of a game called giana sisters, which you might want to call a rip off. It is however an old classic game, but probably from before your time.
It looks like there is only a few fixed spots on the paddle that the ball can bounce off, so it jumps to one of them when hitting it. That doesn't look good or make the control feel good.
