Nice game. I really like the feature that the levels get exponentially harder with each upgrade. Makes for a much more user-tailored experience. That being said, after beating 15 levels I didn't feel like playing anymore. The player needs some kind of reward periodically to keep the game interesting. Unless you love upgrading and maxing out units, boredom is inevitable.
4/5

Pastelgames, look me in the eye and tell me why a detective would not dust for fingerprints on P___ ___el's ID tag, which he would have to touch every morning, before going to work. Easy clue, wasted. (I'm being half-serious)
So much fun! An arcade mixup of classic gameplay elements combined with newer concepts like the invisibility and mirror-world that make this game worthy of my Top 5 games I've ever played on Kongregate.
Normally I would suggest adding story to give the game more character, but this game doesn't even need a story. It's fun, challenging, and sure to piss off a lot of impatient people.
Dying and restarting the game are typical for an arcade style game like this, but when you incorporate a level system, some sort of checkpoint system is also needed.
@Trickysticks Haha I been there. It wasn't even that hard. I had about half of Fighter's and Dwarf's stuff unlocked and had just unlocked the wizard. It can definitely be done.
Also, did you know that if you play lvl 10 and surrender after the dragon has been unleashed, go into a previous war, your units as well as the remaining enemy units are still on screen? Pretty bad glitch.
It reminded me of Dead Space, which I loved. I don't think it is a rip-off because though the guts were similar, the story made it stand apart. I do have some complaints. The movement of the enemies is a bit glitchy. For the "zombies" it made sense for them to turn around and attack you, but for other creatures such as the butterflies and the charging beast, it made it difficult to evade/jump on the other side to attack. I found myself shooting, performing a perfectly timed jump (which kudos: this truly made timing a necessary skill, making it challenging) and when I land on the opposite side to attack, they turned around and were on top of me, making it near impossible to NOT get hit. That is a big issue when you have 10% HP left. This game was excellent and I give 10/10 for the work you put into it. The visuals and graphics were superb. Finding and reading the logs not only let me gain insight into the story, but gave me a break from the mundane shooting and jumping.
Found a glitch in the 3 area before the Bridge. The first area when you start the level, you walk to the right and drop down with a blue door below. I walked over it and my character fell through the map and I can move left and right, but can't jump, but I also cannot see my character. Fun stuff.
As far as these type of games go (Toss the Turtle's Salad / Penguin Rape Smash) this one is definitely my favorite. I particularly enjoyed the neat animation of the Marvel vs Capcom style-window with the characters that pops up when you Power Smash or Killer Shot.
The game lags a bit, but I suspect it is my computer's fault.
Would be 10/5 but I can't so 5/5.
Or as Newgrounds would put it: "all my 5 are belong to this!"
Pretty good. I like the visual designs except for the marbles. Marbles could be better. It's kind of short. As soon as I got into the game it was over. =\ 3/5
Awesome game. You took the asteroid-style shoot-em-up game and made something unique and still very simple. Loved the story and EXADI's voice. You should think about doing a sequel but using a different style game.
