A pause button would really be useful for later in the game when you are trying to finish up combinations that you have missed but have six breeders quickly spitting out clovers.
About an hour in, and everything seems good so far. A few thoughts though, Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems like there aren't very many options for using the food resource. Also it seems odd that you spend units from a given resource to speed up your collection of the same resource. It would make a little more sense if you had to spend other resources to improve collection of one, otherwise you are just setting your own acquisition of that resource back.
Overall great job!
I do have one complaint about the way the combat system works, the player should be allowed to use one potion per turn without using up the character's action. I know that a lot of RPG's count using a potion as taking a turn but this essentially makes potions worthless. I.e. 'Look, I can drink this potion to heal 20-25 hp only to make myself open to being hit 3 times by attacks that deal 15 points of damage each... what a good idea." Also maybe allowing the party to gain partial xp from an encounter where they are defeated (possibly in exchange for not resetting their potion count) might make it a little easier to scale difficulty.
Interesting Game, but it could use more complexity and perhaps some permanant upgrades other than just +15 or +45 to all stats or whatever (such as being able to upgrade individual classes or starting candy or whatnot)
One thing that I have never understood about space shooter games is "hey, I just shot this things armor off... and now it has even more weaponry then before". Is it bad guy SOP to conceal their best weapons under layers of less powerful weapons? Great game but could use more options for equipment and Hyperion is still ridiculous. 4/5
"Hey Ma, I hear that out west they are using thermal nuclear weapons on trees to mine for gold nuggets the size of large buildings which then fly about willy nilly. Pack up the kids so we can live in a tent and get in on that action" - Some Random Gold Rush Hill Billy.
I'll definitely consider this.
