impressive game. top notch interface and graphics. only complaint is the difficulty ramp. The first set of experiments were near-impossible before, then after all the upgrades, you can beat a level in seconds! perhaps supercharge the opposing teams more?
I had fun playing this. Remeniscient of Battalion. However, the gameplay is slow and it tears the fun out of it nearly completely. I've only played it once, and so far, am planning on just once.
After my rant... The game is a spectacular feat of art and programming. I haven't been so amazed by a flash-driven EMU since mike's Doom emulation a year or so ago. At this point... I've just gotten to level 4, so I can't really give a defenitive rating. At this point I'll give this game a 4, -1 because it honestly isn't your work.
TO EVERYONE: these games are emulations of classic games that range from classics to overlooked gems. To onelastwonder; Frantic is basically an example of shoot em ups for this generation, while Raiden X is a tribute or 3rd party sequel to the classic series, 'Raiden'. True, those games ARE better than this one; however they're worse as well, for their own reasons. This game was originally made in 1993 by Face; Raiden was first made in 1994, with some sequels following soon after, and the flash 'remix' was made in or around 2005. Frantic was created just last year, and--due to software improvements and trial and error by past titles, the game is indeed, better than this.
I am an avid fan and collector of shoot em' ups, and if you don't believe me on these facts... do a little research.
the only thing that erks me is the fact that you can only work at quarter notes, lest you double the tempo and work with the 8ths. I would also enjoy if there were no tempo restrictions. This would then let us do some extratone and speedcore :D
im glad this game is what this game is... and not another bejeweled clone. It kept me busy, for sure. It reminded me of a game called Zoop and this game was great.
I dont know what peoples problems are with challenge 4... i beat it in one try. have 'shield chase the 'dragon' and 'sword' chase 'shield', and wait.
however challenge 5 is the bane of my existence.
