For those who care, here's how scoring works. Each thing gets a base value depending on the word, usually from 3000-15000 or so. If the thing you put down adds to a value in red (read the instructions to see why stuff turns red), then the number it adds to the red value(s) add $1000 bonus for each number. Example: If population is red, then you play a PRISON (adds 40 population, lol), your score will be 49,000 (9000+40000 bonus). If population wasn't red, then PRISON would only score 9000. That's also before 2x and 3x bonuses. If jobs and fun are both red, then both values get the $1000x bonus (e.g. bar gives job+2 and fun+12, so would score 6000(base) + 2000 + 12000 = 20000). My best score in small so far is $2,013,000.
Attention devs: You really must let people pick the controls they want, not sets of controls that you don't playtest. For example, the combination of z+down+left makes left not work. It's a constant source of frustration when you're backing away shooting, but you're actually not.
All right I finally made it through the 5th Barricade. Here's some of my tips:
1. Use Nyan Zombie. The people magnet (not anywhere near as good as charmer, though) is absolutely vital in the later stages, especially when dashing.
2. Do everything in your power to save dashes for zone 5. It shouldn't be too hard to survive zones 1-3 when you're maxed out (well other than health).
3. I actually made it to in front of the barricade in one life. After reviving and instantly using the dash, I had already lost 200 health. Just FYI.
4. The MOST IMPORTANT thing, especially on later zones, is avoiding the rear cars. Even the front ones don't matter that much, but the rear ones can devastate your horde, and it's of the utmost importance you keep your horde large. Rich get richer and the poor get poorer, unfortunately. At least Nyan will help you rebuild.
Big fan of the series, but the end game here is way too unfair and hard. If the difficulty increase was more linear than exponential, it would be a lot better. Also, can't figure out why it stops offering revives sometimes. I know there's at least 1 revive remaining, and it won't let me use it. Very irritating. Done with this for now, hopefully an update will address the suckiness.
OK didn't really expect to catch an actually good game so early in its appearance, but this is pretty enjoyable. Very puzzle-y platformer. Certainly way more so than I was expecting when starting the game.
Everything maxxed out to like 1.4M dps. Not bad, but then I saved and came back, and all my lawn mowers were back to default. So in order to get back up to 1.4Mdps, I need to click every lawn mower and escape out of a beserk to max it out again? I don't think so, Tim. So now at 550Kdps and at 19.6B, I've calculated 38.38 hours to get to the final seed, whatever that is. And if you think I'm going to sit there and just keep growing crap to keep dps up, you are crazy.
Honestly I think you need better balancing. Hdrive dwarfs everything else to the point that it's stupid to even think about buying anything else after a couple of upgrades of the hdrive. Also, I think your math is off on some of the stuff. The power jump of the last hdrive upgrade, for example, is totally ridiculous, and also way higher than 200%.
Hmm I'll check on that. I agree there are a few things that undoubtedly could use some tunes. I appreciate the feedback and the play. I'm already looking at a possible sequel and would incorporate what I could into that or a major update to this game. Thank you and best, -Tim
Yes it's pretty much just an average match-3. It's not bad, but there is a very VERY annoying game design decision: When you match something that gives you a bomb or whatever, it shows up at the rightmost or bottommost end of the match you made (should go where the match was made). That wouldn't be necessarily a dealbreaker by itself, but if you have a lockblock at the end, then the bomb you would've created just gets eaten up into nothingness. Very irritating and just an annoying decision IMNSHO.
This is the first time a badge hasn't worked for me. Was on stack 7/12 and no badge. Went back to menu, and oh look, you have to start over. 1/5 for irritation.
With nice graphics ^_^
