(cont.) game elements, then you can possibly make some drawing tools from programs like Paint, Photoshop, GIMP and the like. If you've ever used a tablet (like Wacom; I've just played with one before), they have some pressure effects that you could perhaps replace with time click is held and time click is let go (so it'd say, grow to a certain size as you hold, and trail off after letting go). If that's not "scribble" enough, then perhaps color-in portions. Kinda surprised the music is as jamming as it is for such a game... makes you expect there'd be more to it, at the least.
Just played Scribble 2. Pretty good additions, but still needs more, and the music gets old (choices would be nice, or switches at different stages), and the zoom mechanic, while not only a bad idea, is also poorly designed (it should just center with the mouse so you can see corners.) Still needs restart button, even at end now (I didn't submit my score if that's what's required. Shouldn't have to).
DP motion doesn't allow you to hold forward before inputting down (most fighters I've seen allow it, sometimes even with other non-charge moves [not recommended]). Other than that, it feels a bit fast-paced but with no speed option, there are some glaring typos, and the instructions key layouts (in-game) don't change to reflect your changes. It would also be better if on key config you actually called "special 2" Dodge/Roll/etc. (or as you put it, "Duck," which can be confused with crouch), and "special 1" as Power Burst. Finally, a pause key would be nice. Should I assume the power burst system is your own? (I haven't kept up on each of the involved fighters.) If so, it's fairly interesting, though things seem a little lacking in special system mechanics when you're not able to use it.
Just... if you're going to make a joke on B and A being switched... you should at least keep in mind B was to the left (as Z key is) and (A was to the right (as X key is)... so... it's still like B to run and A to jump. Yeah. In fact, I find it annoying when the default is backwards. So uh, good job on accidentally doing it right. Or something.
Engaging and interesting. That's a rare thing here. However, it's still relatively simple. While it's good in some ways to keep some things somewhat simple, I believe this is a bit much. It would be better with more options, more complications. 4/5.
It ain't just the lack of story that makes this boring. Rather, it's a lack of complexity, uniqueness (yes), any form of animated action (lower than pokemon), lack of common sense feel, and the lack of story, among other things I won't go to the trouble listing out. I played monster den, it sucked too, but this is better than that, if only for the fact that there aren't a billion items you pick up every step of your journey. 2/5.
Game does not deserve badges. But since the sad little ones around here seem to actually play it...
Honestly, just a stupid game. Just because it has some decent quality doesn't justify its high rating.
And how nice for the beginners to be overwhelmed with countless items only to have to discard when you suddenly get too many if you ignore them. I mean seriously, did the maker even play it?
Other than all that, it's just boring, yes, for an rpg.
Doesn't need friction as much as it needs better acceleration to allow the player to actually have some control. It's annoying otherwise... The really good weapons are nice to have once in a while... it gets the player's attention, and as long as it's limited, it isn't so bad.
The music kills brain cells, as do the very few sfx. I understand it's a demo, but the game lacks potential. I don't understand how you could've skipped adding a key for switching though, even for a demo.
Essentially, this game is just a change on one of those control the mouse through the maze games... along with the usual puzzle genre... I'd comment on it being too simple but I know it's a demo. The graphics are obviously unappealing, so this adds nothing to the game either. 1/5.
Empty game. Bug-like features, like wrap-around walls that only work for your ship. Too simple of controls (8 directions), considering that's all you got.
Worth 1 or 2 plays. 2/5
I've only played a couple times, restarting after figuring things out, but it feels like the bosses are a rather hard (even using assassin, I still can't kill). and it's a bit cruel to quickly bring a round of fliers after the 1st boss =P. Perhaps tone down the speed between waves a bit? or at least after a boss appears... Also, it feels like cash doesn't come quick enough to keep up after a little while. I think it's a good game for a defense, but it could also use a visible grid option and/or double grid size so you don't so easily misplace towers.
I'm not sure if it works quite this way already, but it'd also be a nice option to start next wave right after the last enemy of current wave appears, not that i think it's easy enough currently for that to be important right now.
Got badge, never playing again. too random, die too easily suddenly, not convenient enough controls. Just not very good gameplay for the features. And classic is far less appealing.
I'm pretty sure I made it clear in the author's comments that the game should be played with the keyboard upside down
