Lol... when I lost my first battle I got 40 gems, so i could buy a pack.. then I tried to quit and then enter the game again and see if i could save them. But it didnt work :(
lol, when i reached Labyrinth (level 4) i met this guy Shunny, he is like Sonny.. and i laughed my ass off xD he might give you Black-Ops boots :D
