I really liked the game. The only improvement I could think of is that many of the things I want to collect look almost like all of the things I'm trying to avoid. Any chance you could change the color of the bullets or change gold coins to something else?
I will never understand why people upload supposed "Betas" that are completely non functional games. That's what friends are for, not a finished quality game site. How many youtube videos do you see that are just the storyboarding? How many blogs do you read that are just a rough outline of an idea? Why would this creative medium require any less effort?
Yeah, I noticed that turrets aren't very cost effective at the moment compared to fences. I'm going to be adjusting them to take up less space (keeping the same range) and cost less to build. Thanks for commenting on it though, I'm trying to get the balancing right for the full version.
Why would I send a soldier into a trench in direct line of fire. Then give him armor to not die. Then give him a gun to actually be of use. Reinforcements are half dead by the time they are equipped. I then have almost no time to individually give them all medicine before they die, and I repeat the process. More annoying than fun.
Both neutral and enemy bases are red. It makes it a lot easier and more enjoyable for the player to be able to quickly distinguish one from another without having to scan for numbers changing on each hub.
Decent graphics but unoriginal (read: overdone and simplistic) gameplay. 2/5
Controls that require 3 hands. -1 (tab/wasd, enter, mouse or tab, enter/arrows, mouse.)
I might have been able to play past the third level to see if it got more exciting if I didn't see the controls just becoming obnoxious.
Having to backtrack over long distances of nothing to get back to a mine to retrieve something I couldn't get for lack of a particular tool isn't challenging. It's just annoying, inconvenient, and boring.
Can field a vast army, but the fact that I can only command one attack per turn vs several enemies that are ganging up on me means I loose ground regardless.
You can handle it easily. 1) Leave a garrison in each province you suspect to be attacked. Or leave there your army (which can at the same time attack another territory). 2) Try to have not more than one enemy at a time. 3) Control enemy plans by your ninja.
It's showing the chance to hit a monster who is the same level as you.
