Only 2 days after starting this game, and I got the badge. Others are right, stacking as many cantrips and temporary lives as possible is 100% requiered to survive floors 6 and 7 of the gauntlet, since those levels start with pretty much every single square already blighted.
So yeah, always buy cantrips, and if not, shields, whatever's cheapest of either. If there's only splash damage save your money for the next floor, the only exception is the final shop obviously. If you have money leftover and there are no more cantrips/shields, go ahead and buy whatever combination gets you the largest amount of purchases.
You might notice that when you shoot an enemy, he "stalls" for a moment, however that only happens at the start. By spamming your shots, you don't do much damage, but you can basically keep an enemy in place, allowing your towers to finish them. This works specially well with flying enemies.
So you I force a Derp to mate with one of their parents, sacrifice any quantity of members of its family, make it work for no pay and no rest for days on end AND send them to die in a hopeless war and that's no problem, but if I give them a little sugar to make them work faster THAT is what makes them unhappy? They really are stupid.
One thing I really like, and something which you should really know, is that unlike many other RPGs, bosses aren't immune to the cool spells. One way to show this is by enslaving Xiatol at the end of act II, making it so you only have to get her to half health, saving you half the fight.
This game is awesome! Although I feel like I'm a little too obsesive about the stats, a derp could have better stats than the king but if it has even a -1 on anything... That derp is absolute trash and I will be sacrificed to the elder gods. Or to Loko, I really don't know if he's elder or not.
I liked it. I liked it a lot actually, the fact that you basically confirmed a sequel makes me very happy, I look forward to that. Also, if you ever need a proofreader for any future game you make, you can count on us :)
Easy way to grind: You will need to be strong enough to kill the zombies and skeletons of the first boss in one hit and you need a high enough mana regeneration to constantly use your punch staff without running out. If you have that you can go 1-12 and without summoning any units, destroy the monster gate. After you do that, DON'T kill the boss, but kill the infinite zombies he keeps spawning. You can kill 3 with each use of your staff, and when you're done you can just kill the boss and continue on where you were. You can also make the grinding automatic by summoning 2 penguins, as the kill all the enemies by themselves but don't have the range to kill the boss. Now you can go do something else and just check every once in a while to pick your level up perk. Cheers!
