Finished the game today (didn't three star everything, but most of them).
I thought the game's a bit better than many of the comments imply, so to try and counterbalance that since I liked it: it's one of the better TD's on Kongregate. It's pretty challenging, and requires a fair amount of repetition of missions to succeed. It doesn't feel imbalanced to me, it just requires the right strategy and good timing with your spells. It's similar to the Kingdom Rush games in that regard. If you're struggling with bosses, take note of how multiple adjacent powered up air towers can basically freeze juggle bosses, leaving them stuck in place for lots of damage, and incorporate that in your strategy.
Pretty solid tower defense game. I found it gets too easy about halfway through once I'd unlocked some of the later towers and didn't continue playing on - maybe the last levels get hard again? Anyway maybe a little work on balance would help. Still, kudos. Good design, great old school look and sound to it.
This is one of the best TD games made to date. I've already solved it over on Armor and I bought it for the ipad as well. Anyone who likes TD should check this out, it's fantastic. Kudos to the devs on a fantastic job. Make a sequel, I'll buy that too ;-)
This is really solid, kudos to the developers. To all the folks complaining air towers are weak, some suggestions - first, this game is harder than your average TD. Second, air tower without slowing tower coverage is weak, with it, it's much more effective. Third, you have to get those anti-air towers upgraded, so you need to pay attention to the conditions that upgrade them, and make sure you're doing them from the beginning. If you don't do it early, by the late air waves you're probably doomed. Fourth, you need to buy and sell towers more often than in many TD, and fifth, you need to watch the timeline of incoming waves so you know and are prepared for those air waves. Oh, and you need a buttload of those anti-air towers for many waves.
To the Dev - making players aware of where the air attacks are coming from in a given wave, before it shows up, would be a good update to this game. Either that, or allow placement of towers when the game is paused.
Good stuff. Glad to see the tweaks you're doing - archers not prioritizing flying units was a bummer, kudos on the quick fix. Bringing this to ios? I'd buy it if you do.
This is really solid and I love the old school sound and graphics. The pace still feels too fast to me, and it's hard to balance between dealing with the matching puzzle to gain resources and paying attention to what's happening on the TD side of things. Not sure how to fix that.... there was a DS game where it would alternate between a matching game and a platformer, but didn't do both at once, maybe look at how that was balanced? Even if you don't, kudos. Clever concept, well executed. Just feels like it needs some tweaking.
Game's fun but it feels like it needs better balancing. Basically it's too easy. Also I ran into the lightning bug too - tried to buy it, said I didn't have enough money, but it took my money anyway.
Great graphics and design. Game needs balancing though, it's trivially easy once you figure out the lazer plus fast reload and damage means you just hold the mouse button down to win.
Core mechanics are solid and the graphics are good. Seems to me though you would have been better off letting folks at least try part of the campaign, because as it is the game is pretty hard, especially since your level resets if you die. I'm guessing in the campaign you can level up your ship to balance the difficulty? Would rather be able to try that.
For what it's worth I disagree with all the comments requesting more health. This is an arcade shoot em up and the challenge is getting the highest score with the resources you're given. Adding more health just makes higher scores possible and doesn't really add to the fun of the game in my opinion - I think this game is perfectly tuned already. My 2 cents,
Game glitched out on me - built a bunch of barricades in front of my main defenses and the enemy engineers glitched out in the barricades - they stopped blowing things up and just stayed in one place wiggling. I couldn't get the level to end. Shame because this is a pretty cool game.
All you folks saying there are only two tower types should play the game a bit more and look at the upgrade screens. To the developer - good start, needs polish. Some great ideas though, I really like it. Bugs too. Hope you keep working on it.
This game is brilliant. I love it. Consider adding badges! For those who don't know, there is a downloadable version of this game with many more levels for PC.
Great engine, really impressive. Game is a bit shallow but fun - more upgrades, tracks and a bigger city would add a lot to it. Kudos on the engine, also the graphical style is great.
Cool game. Love the retro style. It would be even better with badges and a bit more depth in the upgrades, but it's great as is and true to its art style. Kudos to the developer.
