The 3 times I beat it, it was because I had double buff to protect my top/bot and still got lucky not enough red things appeared in my face to kill me before I could reach a +HP buff. So I stand by my suggestion of increasing lives in Solo mode to at least 2, or to have a way to collect a 2nd life to prepare for a harder stage (like you would to when collecting buffs from other stages). I dont like luck being such a huge factor in the outcome of most of the harder stages. Agree with the rest of the suggestions aswell as still stand by mines from the previous post. Sorry to make such a long post for this silly explanation, but I had to make myself clear from that possible misunderstanding.
Cheers.
Honestly, to be able to beat this stage in Solo mode with no buffs you have to be either TOO LUCKY or bugged (cant take damage), and this is because your survival on this stage (along with some others of the Tier 5 stages, and my whole point) is based PURELY on LUCK, and not on really skill. Why do I say this? Because even if you have the fastest ship which is Paul, some of the monsters on these stages move MUCH faster than you do, which makes it simply impossible to dodge them if they show up from a random place of the screen when you might be dodging something else. In this case its the flying Red things. Its random, thats it. For me, that shouldnt be the point of trying to beat a game in Solo mode. It should depend on your skill and not if you "got lucky" that none of the MUCH-FASTER-THAN-YOU red things appeared in your face without you able to do anything about it. In most of the 7 times I lost on that stage I died simply because of these red things, nothing else.
And @pelife123:
I agree to most of your post and I take it that you might be refering to my post about the Solo mode being "too impossible" with only 1 life, but you misunderstood what I ment.
Right now, Im in the same situation as you are, I finished the game, have all ships and some spare millions, and have beat every single stage in Solo mode. Which leads to the fact that I never really said the harder stages were "impossible" per-se, I said they were "too impossible" as in saying they are actually VERY hard to do with only 1 life, and Ill explain you why with the best example I could find: The Den. I have beat this stage in Solo mode 3 times out of 10 tries, and out of those 10 tries, 5 were having double buff (the 2 little dragons that stick to you and shoot with you that you can find in Tyberius & The Pride stages). In the 3 times I beat it ALL of them were part of the 5 where I had double buff.
@sargent179:
You do know you can simply split your posts just like I did. Lame 1000 characters excuse. Im eager to see "whats wrong" with my 3 posts full of "junk", considering what I said is only SUGGESTIONS based on my OPINION of the direction I see for the game, there's nothing you can possibly say to counter argument someone's OPINION about something. You can say your own opinion on the matter, and that's about it.
Think of a better excuse next time.
Bug: When you try to Craft the "nymphs" thing and you fail, it gets stuck on "Nothing was created." and that sign has no X or anything so you need to restart the page and lose the progress you had after the last autosave -.-
Oh and another 3 things I remembered. 4) Make it so you can see the description of the selected Stage by clicking ONCE on it, then if you want to play that selected stage after seeing the description, you click on a new button like "Start" or something similar. 5) Allow the standard 3 lives in Solo mode too, 1 life while being Solo is just way too impossible on the harder levels! And maybe add a "Pause" button
while Solo too. 6) Allow us to change the Quality Settings, because some of the harder levels are so full of spammy stuff that it completely lags everything in COOP mode. Ill post more things when I remember them, but I doubt anyone will read this anyway :)
3) I personally dont like playing Land characters cause they are too hard and not too rewarding for the skill cap, but I think you should do something for them to make them more rewarding. Like have more armor/hp to be able to tank more hits or something similar.
4) Add a Friends List! Ive found some great teams around but at the end I wish I could have some sort of list to add them to, so when they are online again I can just do something like "Invite to your room" instead of having to see through all rooms to see if any is online.
Still great game and concept, I gave it a 4/5 for now but will definitely 5/5 soon enough when things like these are implemented.
The game's concept is awesome in my opinion, but still needs a lot of work. Some suggestions that I think this game could have off the top of my head: 1) Upgrades for each separate ship; its kinda silly that you just strive to get Paul for the highest hp AND dmg, while other players who like Land characters are stuck with Ben who has less hp and less dmg, while being a lot harder to play. So I think you should be able to just buy HP/Dmg/Movespeed/Armor(Defense)/etc on a shop for each character SEPARATELY (multiplicative price so its not easy to get high stats, AND maybe put a hard cap to it based on lvl) 2) Make "levels" do something more significant AND make them individual from each character, so putting a max lvl 5 on Gary for example is something that makes no sense to me, Id say just remove the cap on everything and let people grind their favorite characters to whichever point they want!
So I finish the game... and it resets to main menu? Thats it?
Seriously you need to update this and ALLOW people to stay on an "unlimited hp" mode after you finish the game so we can enjoy our hard earned upgrades or see the worm on it's maxed state and what not. Reseting you to main menu to go again with no purpose at all is nonesense. 3/5 until this is fixed.
Oh and another suggestion I just remembered:
* In the Options menu we should have an option to "Show/hide offline players", so we can choose if we want to race "seeing" the 'best run' recorded version of some players who are offline at that moment or if we just want to race seeing the people who are actually online at that moment.
Cheers!
4) Let us use flowers to upgrade the way our blob looks and not only the stats on it. Like make it customizable (skin color, glasses, boots, hats, hair??, etc).
5) Make it so we can have some sort of "Stats" page, so after racing we can check our statistics like: Amount of races played, highest position today/all-time, how many times have you been 1st place or have set the current day's best race highscore, etc!
6) And finally, something that might be a bit more complicated, to add some sort of little "chat" in the "lobby" of the game, where you can see other players's stat pages!
But great job overall 5/5 will fav when we get statistics xD!
I loved this simple game, unique and very addictive!
I just spent like an hour playing over and over again and finally managed to set the "today's best race" highscore XD
Here are some suggestions I thought about when playing:
1) Flowers should be worth more the further you go in the map.
2) As it has been suggested before, make it so we can press Space after a race to immediatly race again.
3) In the "how to play" section you should explain what the other "ghost" blobs with your name on it are (what I think is they are the "your best run" version that other players see while racing), and what does it mean when another player has Yellow name! (Im still yet to find out what that means! Maybe that the player is offline and what you're seeing is the recorded version of his best run? altho I have only seen 1 of these Yellow named players).
Im so frustrated right now. FIX THE IMBA MATCHMAKING SYSTEM or at least allow the "training zone", its SO anti-fun to try to learn this game playing against people who are much MUCH better...
Please somebody explain me the matchmaking system of this game.
Its so frustrating seriously in 1 day I managed to go from "Well this game is fun and balanced" to "Right, 10th time in a row I fight against a person twice my lvl/power and get 1 hitted".
Its not by lvl, because Im lvl 13 and for the past 2 hours or so Ive been getting matched to people lvl 20+, the least lvl Ive seen is like 16 and he still had 2x my power.
Its not by power because.. duh, people lvl 20+ have like 5k power, I have 1.4k power. They literally 1-2 hit me every single match.
I-DONT-GET-IT.
I dont even have a GOOD W/L RATIO, NOT EVEN DECENT W/L RATIO or at least not ANYMORE since all I play against is people who are WAY better at this game, not people who are bad or starting LIKE ME.
So please, fix this, because I have just kept hitting the "Start" button the past 2 HOURS in hopes the next match will be against someone with AT LEAST a SIMILAR level/power, but no, not even ONE.
Also, spending every single credit still leaves out 1 skill of each category (asuming you max the rest) with only 80 points.
I kept farming the boss thinking I would be able to max everything =(
Great game! Was looking for something like this to kill time.
Altho in Area 23 there is a bug, seems like after I maxed speed and jump, the space required to go to the door that *eventually* leads to NPC Nancy (to finish a quest) bugs out and doesnt let you fall in it, so now I cant finish that quest :(
While I agree with you TheFirstMummy, to be fair I think we have to admit that there's also no point to playing (almost) any other game other than kill time/boredom lol. But yeah this should at least have highscores or something similar to look up to.
