Diary Entries (Part 8/8):
YEAR 7
An entire town has appeared just outside… and amusingly they’ve also made a marker keeping track of lost explorers. I’ve been keeping the death toll under 1% to keep up interest. The crystal of souls glows with just over 250 souls by now. I’ve begun drawing out plans for my ultimate creation… a collosal demon under my own bidding to show the world my true power. I would need 1000 souls for this however…
YEAR 20
Found my old diary. How far I’ve come since that farmer… The soul count reached 800 today. Plans for my 1000 soul conjuration are nearly done… I guess it’s just a waiting game now.
I can't complete the 'kill machine gun smith' mission. Even after you kill him, and you kill him ten times over, kill him without getting shot, kill him in two turns with crits, kill him and get three stars, the achievement still doesn't register. It's stupid.
There should be an elephant enemy, seeing as john is mainly known for his iconic blue elephant. Also, kick is currently useless - although this is an old game, I think kick should either 1) be a method of deflecting / blocking some of the more fatal attacks (or simply reduce the damage) or 2) deal more damage when enemies are in certain positions. Also, jab is currently overpowered, and there isn't much difference between the three. There should be things like abilities that reduce damage of certain attacks - for example, an elephant could have a trumpet ability that reduces all damage to it by 4 for the next few seconds. Jab would become useless then, so you'd switch. All in all, great game!
BOSS TIPS (PART 1/3): CANYON BOSS: Level Attack up to at least 2, Defense to at least 4, Magic to at least 3. Use your magic and if you get a direct hit it his health will be lowered 80%. Then just hit him a few times and he dies. ISLAND BOSS: Alternate between the two holes, and whenever he comes up jump and hit his face without touching him. Avoid the fireballs when they're appearing at the top of the screen, even if it means losing a few hits off him. Level Attack to at least 3, Defense 5, and magic is not needed.
BOSS TIPS (PART 2/3): RED GUARDIAN: After getting Attack at least 5, Defense at least 6, just whale on him as much as possible. The combos will kill him. GREEN GUARDIAN: Whenever he is about to come jump to the top platform where he cannot hurt you can wait till he passes by. Then go to the side opposite the side he is heading to and hit two of the boulders at him. The boulders always alternate between shooting left and right, and always stand a little bit back. He should die after around 8 boulders. PURPLE GUARDIAN: This is where getting your magic leveled up is handy. Pick one of the two platforms and stay on it the whole time. Enable your fireball attack and constantly shoot at him. Whenever he whirlwinds by jump over him. Eventually you'll run out of magic, but by that time he should have such a small amount of health (and you will have full health) so you can just whale on him to kill him.
BOSS TIPS (Part 3/3): DEMON BOSS: Kill the crystals in this order: LEFT, RIGHT, TOP. Whenever the fireballs are coming by go towards the fireballs in a way that you are running through the fireball that just hit. Then do the same when he goes back. Otherwise, whale on the crystal by constantly jumping. When both bottom crystals are down, go to the top one. Keep hitting it but be sure to jump around to avoid the fireballs. This is a difficult task, but if you avoid enough fireballs you should have at least 1/3 of your health. With a magic of at least 4, you should be able to heal twice to get your health back up. Then, in his roaming phase where he moves around, stay at the top where it is easy to avoid him and where you can hit him the most. Hit him but be sure to never go under him. This should be cakewalk. After that, he will drop an eye that will bounce around. The eye cannot attack, so just jump down and kill it quickly.
Oh, and if you want fun use slime ;) the attack does no damage but transforms all enemies into slimes, which then keep firing slimeshots at more enemies.
If you want to go through each level quickly, get either Cucco (The Chicken) or Wind Elemental and fly through each level. If you want to last extremely long, use paladin and heal yourself after every kill. If you want to be overpowered, use fire elemental (Its flame breath one-shots if all three fireballs hit) - that way, you can individually OHKO every enemy. If they're in a group just use the first ability, fire, to spam damage. If you are looking to move fast while killing enemies, just get the Dark One, run through the halls but constantly spam shots. They will bounce everywhere and hit enemies chasing after you.
I live right next to a city in california that is actually CALLED union city (and is pretty well known), and it looks nothing like this. Zero skyscrapers.
