I'm curious about the potential of the worm's body? Like, right now, it doesn't seem to exist. It doesn't affect opponents, and opponents' weapons don't seem to hurt it. I'd love to see the body knocking helicopters out of the sky, and such, although I do see how it would be a problem if the body were vulnerable (it'd be impossible to survive, I think). Maybe... a worm's metabolism, or something? :D Enemies killed by the body, also, wouldn't regenerate the worm?
A few thoughts. First, I too noticed the bug (apparently?) where "however many damage upgrades later, it still takes five hits to kill a zombie..?" right up until the first time I logged out, then returned to the game. Suddenly, I could kill a zombie in 3 hits. Maybe this is just me? Secondly, I believe it needs some pacing. More stuff for the hero to find, or else fewer enemies. Some more variety? And some puzzles/mysteries to solve aside from the mainline story would be cool. The boss fights are ridiculously easy; I had more difficulty with the two types of "charging" enemies than I did with any of the bosses, including the last one (I had no trouble with running off the platforms by accident; I would jump to avoid the boss' attacks). In and of itself? AWESOME Lovecraftian "Yellow Sign" storyline. Love it. Who cares if similar stories have been done before? Name a genre that's original, lol. I've rarely seen Cthulhuesque material handled with any skill, and this was pretty cool :D
Why are people commenting and voting on how boring this is? It's an Idle function! You're meant to leave it up while chatting in the chatroom of your choice. If you don't like sports games, you don't play them; if you don't like adventure games, you don't play them; if you don't want to just chat, you don't play idle games.
None of the Hindu gods mentioned are specifically associated with war more than any of the others; in contrast, Hinduism does have war-deities, but their names are not mentioned.
The use of the iron maiden is historically questioned. There are those who believe its creation to be for the purpose of fascinating those whose collections and interests lean towards the macabre. According to stories, death resulted from sharp objects being inserted through holes in the maiden's surface.
There is no strategy involved in this game; you simply have to click quickly enough to stay alive. There is no collection, monitoring or allocation of resources, no research and development, no options for the player other than, periodically, "here's a new soldier, and the money to buy some; see, the enemy just bought some, you'd better hurry!"
That @#$% HIPPO! LOL, seriously, a great game; the only problem I have (aside from the @#$% hippo) is that there is no save for one's progress. I accidentally refreshed the page with an unintended click when my computer hiccuped, and I had to start from the beginning, tutorial and all.
This isn't an Atari, and for that matter, people _did_ complain then. It's what there was. Comments are supposed to be about the quality of the game, objectively, by current standards. Saying "by the standards of 25 years ago, this isn't bad" doesn't really help the developer.
I like the game, fundamentally speaking. I wish that Kongregate had more like it. The two complaints that I do have are (1) it's impossible to turn while attacking, so two opponents can take you out very easily, and (2) chunky scrolling + instant death from falling necessitates multiple deaths per level before successful completion.
Somehow, I don't think that the fact that my units are able to slowly heal makes up for the fact that, as soon as I approach a castle and start whacking at it, 100+ enemies appear out of nowhere, lol. Still, a fun game, I'd say 4/5 due to balance issues.
I thought that some of the enemies were very creative, given the setting (evil teeth? lol) and it's a superb effort overall. 4/5; it's exactly what it's supposed to be, but upgrading is almost, if not completely done by the end of Stage 1.
On level 3, I begin to have a problem with my little star (?) being unable to consume planets slightly, but obviously, smaller than it is, even taking into account what I assume is atmosphere? Otherwise, it's heaps of fun. 4/5
The majority of the English-speaking world uses a "C" in many of those instances where American-raised speakers would use an "S," "defence/defense" included. When one considers that Kongregate caters to an international community, "defence" is not an error.
Fun, and challenging; it's a little bit frustrating that one must start over at the beginning of the level with each failure, but what can y'do? I made it to 5 on my first try anyway, so it can be done. Music choice is ingenious :)
...the box isn't automatically corrected in the game's standard mode. Myself, I'm playing on the same mode you are, and the occasional accidental "un-erasure" is no big deal.
This game is intensely frustrating for me. I don't know what I'm doing wrong; I login to a "quick start" game and, every time, I'm looking for a weapon as somebody runs up with a rifle and kills me in two or three shots. Seeing "Kills: 0 Deaths: [insert number here]" over and over again is just disappointing.
Okay then, suppose our sources differ.
