The game went from "too easy" to "frustrating" (with crystals being generated way faster than you can remove them, overcrowding and blocking the play field) way too fast, with too little time in the "fun in a challenging way" zone...
Strange: when I play this on my laptop, the game does not register any mouse clicks I make with the built-in touchpad (which means I can't even start it because the "play" button does not work), I have to connect an external mouse to be able to use it. That's something I've never seen before with any other flash game...
I noticed something that might be a bug: when you use the "Extended Magazine" skill, you initially still get only the regular number of shots upon starting the level, which means your first magazine is effectively only half-full...
Wait, so the zombie apocalypse arrives, turning wildlife into bloodthirsty monsters, and this little scared unarmed cheerleader girl apparently thinks the smartest thing to do in such a situation is to go into the nearest minefield and pick some flowers? Wow. :D
There's a potential gamebreaker: if you fight one of the dragons using a creature with the polymorph ability and you polymorph the dragon into something else, once you defeat the (ex-)dragon you won't get the egg for it, and you can't replay finished levels, so you can't just go back and try again...
Ugh. Factories take FOREVER to kill with the wimpy weapons you get unlocked by the time you encounter them on level 13 - really frustrating. At the same time, most of the enemies are way too easy to pose a challenge. IMO this game could do with some rebalancing.
Nice game with an interesting concept. Which makes it all the more disappointing that there's so many bugs preventing you from completing it. The first time when I tried the final level, I ran into the bug that stopped the Golgi body from working. When I read that it had been fixed I tried again, only no I can no longer move the cell around (It still deducts the ATP cost for it when I drag the membrane, but the cell does not actually move). This is really annoying especially when it happens after you've progressed a good deal into the rather long final level...
Also, I agree that hotkeys are desperatly needed. Ninja champions are so fast and can cloak so long that they can cross the entire map and touch the gems without becoming visible once, so towers are absolutely useless against them - so chain casting meteor is your only chance; a hotkey would help immensely with that.
Oh, and while we're at it: I thought making sounds and music mutable seperatly was standard by now (no matter how good your BGM is, after having it loop for a couple of dozen times it just becomes ANNOYING - but having to play in total silence as the only alternative is no fun either) - how often does the wheel have to be re-invented?
Something I noticed (very annoying): Crypt projectiles that are tracking a ninja simply vanish when the targetted ninja cloaks, instead of just picking a new target (as they would if the target had died).
@JakeWedding: the Gatling is not useless at all; you're just comparing it unmodified to the upgraded pistol, which is quite skewed. Fully upgraded it is pretty powerful, and was my favorite weapon all the way to the end.
Thanks for all the suggestions, but how do you get the cash to build up the house to have 3 troopers *and* buy all those weapons and upgrades to equip them (and yourself)? The only way I seemed to get decent amounts of money was with the rogue, high "Luck" skill and lots of critical hits...
Can someone please give me a strategy how to get to the later stages of this game? The best attempt I've managed so far, after many, many retries, was Day 25. I don't think I'm a bad shot, in fact that most successful run was with a rogue who was a real cash machine because I can land head shots on most enemies rather consistently, but the enemies ramp up in toughness faster than I can build my ability to dish out the damage. I have two guys beside me, but now there's fricking TANKS coming at me and with hunting rifles, SMGs and shotguns I just don't stand a chance - the game either does not give me better guns, or in the rare instance that it comes up with something big it has such rediculous skill requirements that none of my guys can use it...
...and I'm playing the bloody CASUAL mode - I'm getting the feeling that I'm doing something fundamentally wrong, but for the life of me I just can't figure out what! So how do you do it?
