This really is a good game. A touch simple in terms of variety, it'd be nice to see more upgrades available or possibly different branching paths for the defenses.
But I love the way you implemented the fog of war. Lighthouses are interesting. Only good for extending the reach of your basic torches, but nice.
Perhaps making the sunburst towers less overall impressive might be good though. Once you get to those, there's no reason to use any other light sources.
It's obvious the game needs a bit more work, but even so I'll give it a 4/5.
Giving one gold per kill is useless at higher stages. Getting so little when you have to hit something over and over again, and the cost of putting anything useful down is so high.. makes it kinds pointless.
The diabolic imps were so tough that almost all of them walked past my defenses and killed me. I just hadn't been able to afford enough of the good defenders.
On the other hand, the game does need work before I'd call it entertaining.
Maybe more options than just swinging wildly? different gear types and better leveling.
Maybe even a skill system.
You could turn this into a fair RPG.
Why does everyone who sees 'Drow' automatically thing it's a rip on RA Salvatore?
Can you read the description? Saving a princess from a dark lord? That sound like "escaping my heritage"? No.
Doesn't look the same, doesn't fight the same, doesn't act the same..
Actually, it's a fairly common fantasy plotline.
customizing involved clicking options that weren't defined, which added to your ability in ways you couldn't gauge, and you couldn't reset them.
Choosing magic apparently hoped you liked the last one you chose, because you couldn't go back there either.
The interface is bad, and the entire 'mission' is a matter of doing the same things over and over until you find the right path to take. Seems every time you get into a fight, the game puts you back at the beginning.
Another tedious, pointless game.
Goals! Games need to have something to accomplish. Particularly ones you claim are adventure games.
All this amounts to is wandering around in a monster infested field until something kills you.
ok, not cool. Third mission, the enemy is so powerful it can't be survived. It just hits, one base after another and slaughters you.
I matched one King's Guard against one of it's Kings Guard, and I lost with almost half of it's life still there. again, wtf?
mouse scrolling by holding the bottun down, -and- having to toss people by holding the button down... this is a bad combination.
Also, Archer towers are pointless, they do nothing.
Not sure what the secret code is, bu i can't get this game to not drop to -100% happiness right away.
No matter what problem I try to work on, everything else gets out of hand almost immediately.
so far 1/5 for a completely pointless 'game'
A few times here when I had to restart the entire fight because the computer was taking upwards of 30 minutes "thinking" And that was just how long it took for me to get bored and reset.
level 12 is essentially luck based.
You have to get exactly the right combinations of gems to get a massive cash flow in order to just break even against a wall of turrets
towers can't be upgraded or sold, making all those damage 1 towers you have no choice to place kinda useless.
Also, if your own 'ships' aka terrain aren't able to help, they shouldn't block shots either.
Also, the ai's targetting is about useless. If you're not going to let the player choose what priority the different towers have, it's customary to aim for the one furthest along the path, not whatever one it feels like.
