Very interesting twist on the platformer concept. I particularly liked the music because it was very pleasant, and for some reason, it doesn't get repetitive at all even though it's looped over and over. Levels are also totally balanced. You don't have to fight through super small gaps; with the right timing and planning, every level is doable for any reasonable person. 5/5!
(That ghost was naughty :P)
The game actually isn't very difficult. In the later levels with the invisible blocks, there is usually a shortcut at the top of the level. Just take that route instead of going the long way. I trivialized a lot of the traps this way.
So...CycloManiacs 2 is a flash game right? So it would be implied it wouldn't take up a lot of your time, yes? NO! POTENTIAL PLAYERS: SAVE YOURSELVES WHILE YOU CAN! On a serious note, love the same old gameplay, and I like the new adventure elements. 5/5
Gameplay wise, the game doesn't offer much that hasn't been done before, though I find that the shuriken idea is ingenious. In terms of the difficulty, I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything, but even hard is too slow. I don't know about the story mode, but on survival, it takes way too long to get to 100k for the achievement. It wasn't hard. It was just slow. Before I was even halfway through I was really bored. I'll give this 4/5, barring the difficulty taking away some of the fun of the game.
@p4577 Yeah. I'm sure your hyper-sensitive ears can pick up the extremely huge difference between an MP3 with a bitrate of 320 and a lossless music file.
I absolutely love the concept. I play the guitar and piano, and for some reason, composing with this game is really fun. Being able to highlight the notes in a chord with the melody without spending too much effort is great. Occasionally, I manage to create some interesting atonal music.
I like the music in the game (You know, at least the ones that aren't being written by me), and the gameplay is fresh. 5/5.
To those who're really frustrated with level 10, count to 8 quarter notes at 210 bpm before you press right all the way. Start 1 as soon as the level loads.
If you are an idiot like me, you would've spent all the space on your ship on rocket launchers because the description said it was the most powerful. Don't. It's great for senseless farming, but you won't be able to kill the boss this way because it takes up too much space for the extra bit of power. The lasers, and possibly other weapons, are definitely more powerful in terms of damage-per-space.
The learning curve for this game is pretty high, at least for me. Only when I completed the Journeyman levels did I really understand how the game was supposed to be played.
But once I learned how to play the game, it was great. 5/5!
@samsung180 I think the problem you're having is due to your keyboard's inability to recognize that specific combination of key presses. You can try substituting some buttons with the first configuration (arrow keys) with the second configuration (WASD).
I liked the music and some of the strange sound effects (Like when the cat gets hit by bullets >.>).
Gameplay is, well, bullet hell, but I liked the 2-weapon system. Graphics are stunning. I'd bet that there would be people who would pay money for this game just because of the graphics.
I think it's just me, but I found that there were a tad too many different mechanisms to get used to when starting out. Would be great to be able to get to the stage where you want to kill yourself while trying to solve the puzzle. Gameplay is really interesting, though. 4/5
Dear ArmorGames, I would like to order the very same threadmill featured in the game. I would love to burn 30,000 calories in 5 minutes. Hope you can reply soon. Thanks.
