The story was very simply but brilliantly written. Very depressing. The gameplay isn't anything unheard of but it was executed well enough to have it's own unique feel. 5/5
The game works on a basic fundamental level, but the random actions of the guards requires you to be a little too patient sometimes. I think a blend of randomized guards and a few patrolling guard would make the game a little more attentive based.
The thing that really irks me about this game is that there's quite a few castles that if you don't do it right in one go the targets become too well protected to be able to finish it.
I'll be honest. I had to use a walkthrough for level 10 >.> Other than that it was a pretty awesome game. Although I think it needs to be a bit longer.
Parts of this game really annoy me. For instance, the fact that there's very little starting towers pigeonholes you into getting more starting mana. Which you can't really ever get rid of because creating towers takes so much mana. I can understand the build aspect being brought into the game much later, but I think the game would be half as frustrating if it didn't start out so rocky. At least gem bombs are better early on.
This game is pretty unique and well designed in it's puzzles. The main problem is the sound and the look make the game drab and the puzzle based gameplay don't help to lighten it up.
Well finally beat the last boss. It's kind of a gimmicky fight. I didn't summon anything but the elf titan and the angel knights and he didn't stomp hardly at all. Kind of a half assed fight imo, hopefull Epic War 3 will have a better last boss.
There's a seemingly random factor in a couple of those levels that's more aggravating than challenging. For instance, level 3 I failed because enough cars didn't even appear on the map in time. I lost right before the last car came upon the intersection. For that and it's shortness 4/5. It kept me entertained enough to play through it all the way.
