Went with the power creature, the game is too slow, and having reached level 8, I'd have to say the closest thing I've seen to 'strategy' in battles is waiting to use your most powerful skill. Also the weekly advance of time seems there only to trick you into missing tournaments. You should pop up a window asking if we want to fight in the tournament and not send other trainers to fight when there's a trophy to win.
The only thing I would improve so far is either to allow the player to slow the battle down a bit, or move all the controls and indicators to the top of the screen. I would guess the game is almost impossible with the mouse alone because you have to be looking at the top of the screen and hitting spell keys, which you practically have to memorize because there's no time to look down. 4/5
I'd be tempted to give this a 5/5 if it saved the status of whale farm and fish and burger inventory through refresh. I've lost a lot of incubating whales due to refreshing or needing to restart the browser.
Are we supposed to loose stuff when we reload the game? I reloaded for a quest and lost gold fish in progress of being wales, hamburgers, and all the fish in my inventory.
Just started playing and ran through the first level of the clockworks twice, two things are confusing me. 1. The vendor seems to have equipment that is identical in quality to what I already have, only my stuff is now level 3, so am I supposed to be going somewhere else to find better gear? 2. I click on the special offers at the beginning and it takes me to a web page to sign in. My user name is something like kongregate:9nnnn and it asks for a password. I tried my kong password but it didn't work, and registering seems to create a separate account.
Judging from the comments, I need to run far enough that there are flying monsters, then find a superman and then run into a monster to get the easy badge. Except even when I see them, it's very hard to run into them. Poor choice for an easy badge.
Hmm, it's quite simple really but I've been having a hard time making it clear through the tutorial. To get the pieces to blow up you need to place your piece so that three whole pieces of the same kind/color (not the cubes they're made of) are touching! :)
I've hit a bug a couple times where I'm dragged at full speed to the right or left without holding any key. I can stop myself by pushing the key for the opposite direction. I haven't figured out what finally snaps it back to normal, but it's a long swim back to the boat after.
Just hit a bug in battle, enemy health went negative. Battle didn't end. Had to wait for it to heal back to 0, to kill it. No attacks had any effect on either side while the health was negative.
I'm underwhelmed, I know in all the previous ones you cruise along till you have to grind, but four levels in the only entertainment is trying to follow the action and seeing updated art. Where is the strategy?
Hitting the close window button takes you to some fake lottery winner page that tries to get you to sign up for some convoluted rewards program to supposedly get a $1000 gift card.
The point of the different classes is rather lost when the only thing that matters to be able to level in an area is the lowest of your stats. Soldier comes to mind. Since defeating any monster based on evade alone is going to be a long journey indeed.
