Might get flak for this idea, but I don't think you should be able to remove saplings. I kind of want the "boss" to create problems for me other than just soaking up energy.
8 new dungeons. 20+ new bosses. 60+ new equips. Collectable monster cards. Newgame+ mode. New difficulty options (cheats and challenges) . Custom game options (different experience on each playthrough). HD graphics and music. Probably some more stuff I forgot to mention...
People are really hatin on this game, huh? I mean the graphics are definitely showing their age but it mostly seems like people are mad they can't figure out how to play it. Or they just hate rhythm games in general, which is fine but yeesh.
*spoilers* I didn't really see any evidence that settled the question over whether phooey blackmailed Bop or he was just loyal to her. Both seemed equally plausible. I even figured that since the charity knew about his desertion it wasn't totally a secret and he had even been somewhat forgiven. So I just wound up guessing wrong. Loved the game though! Shame we won't necessarily see all these plot threads fully resolved, but I guess the story is bigger than Margh, which is tragically poetic in a way.
Love this game! Was super bummed I couldn't finish my playthrough bc I had to go to work, but such is the way with alpha stage games. The core mechanics are great and it even seemed fairly balanced already which is bananas. This feels like a top-tier flash game from 2007 as it is right now. My biggest fear is that it'll trade that flavor for some art style that isn't to my tastes. But since "2007 Flash game" probably isn't a bankable aesthetic, I can't really complain. Just don't jam it all up with a bunch of skinner-box mechanics, please.
Game gets pretty sluggish for me once I bought the first map piece. Refreshing didn't help. Otherwise great game! For those who hate slogging to the top: I carved out a path on the left side in a snaking S shape and it really sped things up for me. Takes a little time initially but the time saved adds up really quickly.
This game is great. Still trying to discover all of the buildings for the journal. I think some of the more advanced buildings aren't really practical compared to the price to stop the darkness. It'd be cool if you added an even harder mode that made stopping the darkness expensive enough to make the other buildings worth the investment.
The description of Flaming Hands made it sound like I was going to add bonus fire damage to my projectiles. I was honestly a little sad that that wasn't the case; I thought it was a really neat idea. Projectiles need more love once you get to the lower levels.
Also, do the elemental weapons get bonuses from your spell/elemental mastery? I think they should but it isn't clear.
There really needs to be a few filters to the evolution screen to show which monsters I have the materials for and which monsters are fusion material. Right now I'm stuck hoarding monsters and plodding through the process of evolution and fusion haphazardly. It's a huge waste of time, really.
Really liking this game so far. A couple suggestions, though:
1) It would be nice if we could draw our hand on our opponent's turn so players can consider possibilities while waiting. It'd make PVP run a lot smoother.
2) As other commenters have suggested, flavor text would be awesome. It'd be nice to get a little more insight into the historical/legendary basis for the units.
But otherwise I look forward to playing this for quite some time!
Hey Uberchops,
Thanks for your suggestions! Both of them have been noted on our backlog, we like the idea of your first suggestion a lot, as we agree it would help the PvP to be much smoother, will keep you posted!
I think the biggest think holding this game back is the lack of PvE content, which keeps people from sticking around long or engaging in multiplayer. I think simply allowing people to replay campaign levels with reduced rewards would go a long way. Maybe embed some other achievements in it.
Love how well-made the beginning is. Non-obtrusive bits of tutorial that still expect you to make decisions on your own. I wish more games started out like this instead of treating all players as if they were 4.
I think a hardcore mode with no wings would be neat. After beating both versions, I made a habit of wiping all my save data and trying to get all the way through without the wings.
Yes. Thanks. We are working on it. Firstly we make text crowl faster. And fully fix it in next update
