i cant banish romans once they've captured my city. I have won the battle like 10 times giving me 20% more army strength (so now I have super strong army because of the buff x10) but they still occupy my cirty and i have to pay them
Too HUGE of a grind - the only point of playing this game is checking crates for gears. That's boring. If I wanted to grind that much I'd play Lineage instead.
I might've forgotten something. I would give this game 3/5 at most, unless you fix those things. I really liked it's theme and the game in general, but all the aspects should be improved. This game would be 5/5, if it was released 5 years ago.
Hope it helps you somehow and that I'll get to play improved version of this game :)
and sorry for posting so many comments, kongregate wouldn't let me submit it as one comment
Spawn time - this was the worst. Crates didn't disappear. Never. Neither did the stars. Not sure about power-ups. That can't be. They have to disappear from the ground after few seconds. You either pick them up or save your life. Instead, you can save them for later without any worry.
Vechicle - I finished the game for one reason - I really hoped that you would get to drive the vechicle and manslaughter some zombies... unfrotunately, after so much of grinding for gears I was let down. That would've been such a nice end of game.
Zombies - this is what made the game really boring for me. 4 types of zombies. One that is running at you, second that is running at you, third that is running at you, and fourth that throws bones at you. How about some diversity? (Yeah I know, the one without hat and the one with helm weren't running at you, and the one with helm was more resistant. But it's the same enemy, still) Every single round was the same, female zombie rushinhg at you, and the rest of zombies looking at each other while you shoot at them and slaughter their comrades. Not only they were totally unfun, but they were dumber than zombies in american movies. It's a game, ignore realism. Make them chase you. Make more types of zombies. What about some bossess? Or stronger zombies? Or something that you would be forced to use melee weapon against?
Melee weapons - why are they even in the game? I only used them once - to test how useless they were. And I wasn't surprised. The damage from them was insignificant, every zombie died from one shot from my gun anyway. Why would I sacrifice my life in order to inflict damage, when I can easily do it from a far and more efficiently? I didn't see a single reason to use melee weapon.
Upgrades - fix the costs! All the ugprades were cheap as f*** except for the last one. But you dont even need the last one when you're flooded with so many crates because you got the crate upgrade maxed by 2nd or 3rd run. Compass upgrade was totally useless - you end up running left and right anyway, so there's no need to acquire it. It's not useful AT ALL. On the other hand, I really loved the bear upgrade, I think that was a great idea and could've been expanded a bit (maybe more upgrades for the bear? Make him more mobile too? By the time he killed one zombie I wiped half of the screen already at the end of the game, so he became useless to, but he's got potential! He's a russian bear after all)
Power-ups - I was SOOOOOOOOOO let down by the power ups system. Basically, there were only 2 power ups (I'm not counting extra time, this one was redundant and actually didn't help you but quite the opposite - you'd have to stand longer on the field, but that didn't have any advantage over returing earlier to home and just getting next upgrades), speed up and damage up. And that's all. 0 creativity. It's been in every single game, and you didn't even bother to add one more, nah, you just used the 2 most basic ones. I'd rather not have them at all. There are so many different things you can do, but you decided to limit yourself. Maybe some unique weapon that you can use temporairly? Or maybe berserk (healing from melee attacks + faster/stronger melee attacks?). Maybe summon companions? Maybe grab all money? More money? The list goes on.
Crates - first 2 levels, you barely get any. You invest 2-3 points into crate upgrade, and suddenly whole field gets flooded with crates. Is that a good thing? Definitely not. It makes the game too easy. All I did was walk from right to left then from left to right and press W when stumbling into a crate. This made the game too easy. I was literally spammed with grenades, sometimes I would get power-ups and other bonuses, but mostly grenades.
Which brings me to the next point - Grenades. Seriously, you could spam the hell out of them. You were given so many grenades than you didn't even have to make a decision whether to use a grenade or not. Why? Because you'd get another one in matter of seconds. They would wipe whole squad of zombies and you didn't even have to manage the ammo. Something has to be done about it.
I liked the game. Even though it was very short, I still had some fun.
There are a LOT of things you could improve to make the game even better.
Weapons - the weapons were ok-ish. They all followed the same concept (weapon #1 - shoot bullets. #2 shoot bullets faster. #4 shoot stronger bullets and so on), which wasn't all that appealing. Also, there wasn't any reason to pick between weapon A or B. You just had to pick the next weapon you've unlocked beacuse it is better, hands down. I liked AK-47 more than the sniper rifle, but sniper rifle seemed stronger. Maybe some upgrades to particular weapons? Like increase damage, special effect (like crit, freeze, burning and so on). Maybe ammo system? Or ability to swap weapons in game? If there was ammo system, then you'd be forced to play more carefully and actually use other weapons when neccessary. Rocket lunchers, flame throwers, plasma guns - that's fun! Pistol, faster shooting pistol, stonger shooting pistol - that's not as good.
please, please, please! let us turn off those windows with information ('you have reached max capacity'). I know that I've reached it! The game told me this for the 10th time before I could get enough water to upgrade max capacity. It's really annoying that you have to either close it every time or play the game with the window covering half of your screen.
The upgrades seem weird - they all cost the same. All I needed to upg was capacity and amount per click, the amount you get from these is soo much that rest of the upgrades (well, 2 of them) seem redundant. Also having more upgrades would be great.
The game is very pretty and great, but I believe you can expand it a lot.
Such an awesome and promising game! I really loved it. However! WAAAAAAAAAY too short. I've got all the upgrades too early and faced the final boss even faster. Definitely needs to be longer (more upgrades, more everything!)
The game was absolutely brilliant. Loved every bit of it. Especially the art. Beautiful graphics.
The music is very repetitive, but quite catchy.
I'm only half way through, but I'll forget the idea later on most likely so here it goes (if it is already in game, sorry!) - Once I hit the 5 plants limit, there's nothing for me to do with gold, other than just waiting to plant another plant once one of my plants (plant plant plant ^^) dies. Apart from upgrading the plants limit, you could add an option to evolve/upgrade plants. E.g. once my power plant hits level 6, allow me to evolve it to super power plant (sounds great, eh?!) or ultra power plant (super original names!) - both of them having unique powers and attributes. This way, I could finally do something with gold! And the game gets more complex too. You could do it for all kinds of plants too.
There's a bug - when it asks you to like/follow certain pages on facebook/twitter, all you need to do is click on the link, you aren't required to like/follow them, and you still get the gold.
Got like into 5-0, it saved the game, I closed my browser. I come back today to play again and guess what? the save is gone, can only start a new game. Such a bummer. As much as I loved this game, not going to play again :( still 5/5
I've had like 3k gold, every single research, 7 family members, 100 health, plenty of food. Nothing left to do. Was boring farming meat for gold. All I could do is watch everyone die. Still, liked the game. However I'd be lovely if there was something else to do after a while. Btw. there's a SIMPLE way to gain fortunes. Just plant plenty of trees, chop them, go to the market and sell all the wood. Rinse and repeat. You will have so much gold thanks to it, that you don't have to plant anything at all, you don't have to send anyone to work. You only have to send your people to market for more food and to the school for knowledge, so you can get more research. Should you run out of gold, just plant more trees.
Thank you! Your comments will help us improve our next games. Really appreciate.
