This was great! Really went back to the roots of the first game. Nicely done. :)
Also, managed to find 4 hearts... Granny's house, Bridge, Indiehouse, and Mountain. Curious which ones I must have missed.
The game was still cute and the puzzles were harder and more interesting than the first one, but I think the story wasn't quite as intriguing. And the story of the first game was what really made it shine.
Once again, the story was fantastically well done. If anything, the weak point would be the "quest" segments where you have to fight the demons and stuff. The controls seemed a bit clunky and the enemies were very 1 dimensional, whereas the characters in the story had lots of depth.
It was still an amazing story that I gave 5/5, though. And I'm sure you're going to keep working on growing as a developer in the future. So, keep up the good work! I look forward to playing more by you. :)
A really well done little story! It's more of a visual story than a game since there's not much for you to actually do, but there's nothing wrong with that. If every game were the same, it'd be really boring, and Home does a really good job of being what it is.
It got me interested in all of the characters and even trying to think up back stories (Like for why the blacksmith had no wife.) or what could happen next. (Like the alchemist and the adventurer get married.)
I even played through it twice to choose the other option in all of the choices. And I have to say that I enjoyed cutting down the townspeople and bursting into the smithy covered in blood more than I should have. Haha.
Keep up the great work! I can't wait to play The Journey Home and more games by you. :)
Wow. I am loving this series so far. So much depth, plot, humor, and good ol' RPG action. I can't wait for MARDEK 4-8 to be made.
On a side note, if you read through all the lore, there are some interesting things in there. One of them is about how YALORT's name is always capitalized to show respect to him and because he's a god, and that it's blasphemy to capitalize anything else fully, because that puts them on the same level as YALORT.
However, MARDEK is all caps in the game title... Does this mean that he reaches godhood later in the series? Or does he defeat YALORT eventually? UGH. This raises so many questions!
