How to beat the Kongregate Challenge:
Put 1 machine gun in the bottom left corner, upgrade dmg and hp once each, and the rest into reload.
Fill the top 2 with Apocalypse things, and upgrade thier reload max
then make a heavy cannon on the bottom slot, upgrading health till your out.
the heavy cannon acts as a shield, the two apocalypse things wil be used whenever the Kongregate shield ships come, the machine gun is for everything else

I liked this game, it was pretty easy even on extreme. I don't know what you people are complaining about the boss, it's so simple: The "dark" dopplegangers are copies of you, so the obvious way to do it is to strip your armor and skills except area damage skils, and just own them right after spawning.
