@fowlerb11.... To craft the more powerful items, you need a high Artistry skill as well as the specific crafting skill. And to make you character your Kongregate avatar, hit Alt+PrintScreen when your character is on the screen, paste to your preferred picture editing software, (MSPaint works just fine for this) crop the image as desired, save, and then upload to your profile.
@timdood3... 4-sided dice have been around for decades. Hell, I've got one in my dice bag that I've had for nearly 30 years. The only die used in this game that I don't have is a D50, but those do exist as well. Yes, I even have a 100-sided die (aka Zocchihedron). 4-sided die: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4-sided_die
Eclecto, maybe that one is a little too impossible. I'm tempted to do it just to see how long it would take. Ok, just make it the Personal skills. That would still take a fair amount of grinding to raise enough money to buy them up to max, and you'd still have to earn the Observation skill.
Not sure I agree with new badge rankings. While this isn't the easiest hard badge on Kongregate, it seems easier than it could be. I would have put completing the campaign at medium, and for a hard badge either: 1) Kill every monster and open every chest in one trip through the Dungeon of Mystery, or 2) Get all in-game achievements. I'd also like to see an Impossible badge where you have to raise every skill to 1000.
@Dubrak, that's not a bug, it's a feature. The purple protection bonuses are magical, and there is a maximum amount you can have, based on your Mysticism stat. Apparently you were 1 point below the max when you equipped that item.
Ok, maybe a FASQTAAAINTG list will help (Frequently Asked Stupid Questions That Are Already Answered In The Game)---- Q: What does this "1d8" crap mean? A: It means the game simulates the roll of 1 8-sided die, giving a result from 1-8. This notation is familiar to us oldtimers who remember when games like this were played by a group of people sitting in the same room and rolling actual dice. 2D8 would be 2-16. ----- Q: Why didn't my protection didn't increase as much as it should have? A: The 2nd protection stat is magical and is limited by your Mysticism stat. ----- Q: Why can't I craft (x) time even though I have maxed (y) skill? A: Increasing your Artistry skill will improve your chance to craft all items. ---- Q: How do I raise my (attack/defense/crafting/whatever) skill? A: Use it. The more you use a skill, the higher it gets. Items with a learning bonus helps them increase faster. Most non-combat skills can also be increased by buying items in the shop.
@Calon... Here's how I got my attack skill up to 1000. I went through the Dungeon of Mastery and saved up the items with the best Learning bonus. When I was done, I put my good gear in storage and outfitted myself with gear for a Learning bonus of 50%. Went back to the Dungeon of Mastery with a Magic Attack of about 850, had it up to 1000 by level 15. And got Magic Lore up to 1000 a few levels after.
So, what's next, "My Ex-Wife Took My Daughter"? (Can't say that I'd blame her, after all the trouble the girl has gotten into on dad's watch) Or maybe a puzzle/trap platformer, "Jigsaw Took My Daughter"? How about a top-down shooter, "Terrorists Took My Daughter"? Or possibly a Clue-style game, "Who Knocked Up My Daughter?" (Judging from "Zombies Took My Daughter" she seems to get around a lot)
My theory is that Doctor Wurstwagen must be from New Braunfels, which is between San Antonio and Austin. Odd coincidence that I found this game that same night that Wurstfest kicked off. Maybe her family runs one of the sausage stands there.
For Basilica (3rd in the hard row) sell 7 of the towers. That lets you upgrade the remaining tower to a Sniper. That will take out the first few waves while you buy back the other towers. Buff the Sniper with 2 Fire Rate and 1 Damage Boost, and build an Area Burst on the other side, buffed with 1 each Range, Fire Rate, and Damage Boost.
For Stealthy (4th hard) I pretty much used XP Hunter's solution, except that I started with a tower at the last bend before the exit at each side so I could see when the Stealth critters were getting close.
4/5. Half a point off because the continuing issue with towers ignoring ghosts, .3 off because I hate having to juggle just to complete a level, .2 off because the difficulty ratings don't make sense. I got perfect wins on Box in a box, Basilica, and Bow-and-arrow on my first try, while it took a couple of attempts with some of the easy levels.
