Yeah, it really needs an option to just restart the boss fight you died on. It's frustrating having to click on the boss's name again and again and again.
Got to 10 and stopped. The fact that your buildings grow visually as they level was kinda cool, but it wasn't near enough to separate this game from the 2389472389742897 others exactly like it. This was a copy-pasted game. 1/5.
I gave it an honest shot. I got to level 10 for the two entry tickets. Unfortunately, I can't give it more than a 2/5. The artwork was amazing, the arena was fun, and the game-play was fun. Its the energy system that drags this game down something awful. It kept me from playing this game before this contest, and will continue to deter me until it gets an overhaul.
Two things I would change. First, I would overhaul the weapon upgrading system. Having to go back to grind when we want to use a different weapon (in the later levels) and then entering and re-entering levels until the upgrade appears is tedious. Allow us to "respec" our weapons. Second, give us the ability to re-assign the key-binds. Aside from those two things, awesome game. I loved the story.
This game has a long ways to go, but I think that, if you keep at it, it could be great. I agree with other people in that it needs a better aiming system, slower turning speed, and a smaller game-play screen. One thing that was really distracted me was the walking/running animation. A little improvement there to make it more realistic would be nice.
I've encountered a really annoying glitch twice now. Rarely, when I die and choose to Revive in the Village, I get teleported to the village and get the death penalty, but the Game Over screen does not go away. It remains there until I either choose to Revive again (I get the death penalty again.) or choose to Save and Quit. Either way, I lose my portal back to the area I was in.
