i love the idea of using a game to comment on its own genre, and i am all for games as art, but frankly at the end of the day, a game is a game, and this one isn't very fun to play. the story was amusing and conceptually it's fresh and interesting, but its biggest draw is also its biggest downfall, and not having any depth or character really takes away from the experience.
got a little dull and frustrating after a while. ending was unsatisfying. other than that decent enough. interesting and new concept was nice but could have been executed a little bit better. 3/5
@alex6105 the significance of "DO NOT FAIL" is not "trying to emphasize that sometimes you HAVE to obey others", but rather an emphasis on the self-destructive and non-progressive nature of rebellion for rebellion's sake.
there is no time in a game in which you should be in danger of off-screen foes. if you're going to encourage leap-of-faith gaming don't put random deathtraps in it plox. good game otherwise. 4/5
less than satisfactory. compared to similar games it just doesn't stack up. in a game with infinite continues challenge is important. this game was not challenging. playing the same portion over and over again until i win is not challenging. it's boring. a monkey could do it. a child could do it. genuine challenge would be nice. i plugged 55 minutes (according to the timer) into this game and did not get 55 minutes worth of reward from it. i came out bored, frustrated, and disappointed, and the lack of a final boss really destroys the flow and makes the game an anticlimax. not recommended.
the story felt tacked on, as all the elements that appeared to play to it didn't show up until about level 12. plus the gameplay was decent at best and at high quality the game can lag. some stages seemed to have artificial difficulty as well. (the all seekers level? had to use all three of my zero wipes just to survive)
decent at best.
controls are horrible, I'd really like an option for wasd movement and mouse firing, that'd make this game a million times better for me than it is. As is, 3/5. Great concept, but the control scheme is just... ugghh.
@docciavelli - 9 turns to a draw would make strategies like onimaru using ancestral spirit over and over at long range would make it impossible for him to die because of his massive defense buff. If someone beats you down to the point that he can afford to have some fun with you, maybe you should have done better in the game.
Check my shouts for a very hard map - Unbeatable BMX. It's the real REAL long code.
and although the name is "unbeatable BMX", you can use BMX or Mountain Bike and it is indeed beatable.
I expected so much more from this. Crap aim, no health bar (I died because I didn't know when I was going to die), terrible weapons (since when is base pistol > smg?), INCREDIBLY repetitive, not imaginative at all, just straight-up not good at ALL. Kongregate, please NEVER give a game this bad a card EVER AGAIN.
