The allies are only good as meat shields, and you have the choice of upgrading yourself, or your turrets. Either one makes you die.

To anyone who complains about morale: Morale, or rather lack of, forces you to lose because your soldiers lose the will to fight. Morale is the will to fight. Take away the will to fight, and your soldiers don't.
