"Thank you, Motolov Guy, for saving all of the civilians and VIPs. You killed all the Baddies... by burning down the whole f***ing forest, which completely decimated the natives' ecosystem, and ultimately lead to the death of nearly all nearby wildlife. We award you this gold star for outstanding bravery, and a kick in the pants for being a f***ing idiot and bringing a bunch of motolov cocktails into jungle warfare." <-- This is what should have been the message at the end of the game for me. :P
After I beat the game, I went through every level with assassin and made sure to kill every single guard, sentry, officer, and dog for all of the trouble they gave me in level 16 - 18. Revenge is a dish best served with a quick neck snap and a superfluous knife, as they say. No seriously, why is the assassin holding a knife if he is just going to snap people's necks?
Well, this review is going to be biased due to the fact that I've played the other bubble tanks games (BTW, Hero Interactive really improved the game. You should play the others.) First off, it needs a mini map (which was added in Bubble Tanks 2) and a pause screen (which was added in Bubble Tanks 2). The final boss took way too long to get to, and was pretty pathetic considering how a bubble filled with tiny shooters would be a lot more difficult than one large spawner with a couple cannons. (Don't worry, the final boss in Bubble Tanks 2 is epic). Also, it is nearly impossible to shoot anything unless you spam the mouse button (But Bubble Tanks 2 has a click and hold shooting style). Finally, it would be nice if there were different choices of tanks rather than one path of upgrading (If you haven't figured out where I'm going with these parentheses, I feel pity for you). Long story short: This game was crap, but Hero Interactive's later versions in the Bubble Tanks series are great
Brilliant game. While seemingly simple at first (see alien, shoot alien) you were able to make each level distinct in its own way, which kept things interesting. I especially liked the third level in which I was forced to use night vision, because it really kept me on my toes. The music was timed perfectly to fit more difficult areas, the story was great, and the weapons and upgrades kept the game interesting. Definitely one of the best flash games I have ever played.
Very nice game. It reminds me a lot of Ultimate Assassin. However, this game has the guards follow patrol routes rather than walk around randomly, which I liked. I didn't like the fact that there were points deducted for using skills. The assassin is a little too challenging to use against officers and dogs, as it is painfully difficult to keep the assassin within range to attack while not bumping into and alerting them. Against guards and sentries, this isn't a problem as you can still kill them before they shoot, but dogs will kill you and officers can use their whistle. Also, I think it is odd that while officers see dead bodies, guards and sentries don't, and they should. I also agree with Bedzio that it would be great if there were missions in which we could poison an official's food or steal something. Maybe we can see that in the sequel (Yes, I'm trying to tell you something with that last statement). Still, these issues are tiny, so I'm rating 5/5. Great Game!
Here are a couple hints for beating the game. First, symptom tiers 1 and 2 have mostly symptoms that increase infectivity and visibility. Tiers 3 and 4 have mostly symptoms that increase lethality and visibility. Second, you don't need to start in Madagascar to win. In fact, it is easier if you don't. Just remember that to infect Madagascar easily you need high heat resistance and be transmittable by insects ('cus Madagascar is a hot jungle). Third, don't get moisture resistance 2 AND the waterborne trait unless you already have most of the regions infected. If only a few regions are infected, all it takes is one water supply to shut down airports and shipyards. Also, don't let your disease have an explosion of infectivity. If the numbers of the infected jump from 1,000 to 100,000,000 in a few days, country borders will quickly close. Finally, don't worry too much about visibility early on. As long as the disease is still confined to a few countries, borders won't close.
I very much like the poem and how the game reflects it. However, there is no way to "beat" the game, is there? You will fly past the clouds indefinitely until you hit one. The game in itself then has no purpose other than displaying the story. I don't mean to be harsh, but this game really should have just been made as a flash movie. I'll give it a 3/5 for the concept, the poem, and the lack of actual gameplay flaws, but I really couldn't give this game a higher rating without it having some sort of goal.
That was the most verbose and witty turret that I have ever had the pleasure to meet. 5/5 before even accounting for the actual excellence of the game.
Okay, the tutorial was kinda crappy and a little confusing due to its fast pace and its somewhat random order of lessons. Also, the beginning of the game is boring. However, once you start playing, the game picks up and turns out to be very fun. Also, the developer isn't lying, as far as I know: Parallel Kingdoms is the only game of its kind. Good job, mlynchpk. Also, to anyone reading this, please listen to the developer. Play for at least 10 minutes after the tutorial, this game does get better the more you play it.
This kinda just occurred to me: Why are there so many empty slots in the inventory, and why are there a few areas on the map that we don't visit? It's been 10 months since the upload, so I'm seriously doubting that they are for a future sequel, so are they just cosmetic placeholders?
Whoo-hoo, beat final boss without dying (came VERY close a few times, though, hehehe). Anyways, another awesome game, Godlimitations. There hasn't been one game that you've made that I haven't enjoyed, and this one is probably what I consider your best.
Of all the games on Kongregate, I find that these platformer "stories" are always the best, and their developers are the best as well. (This next part is not meant to insult anyone, by the way) Anyone can make a shooter or a puzzle game, but few people can create a game like Grey. Well done Kevin McGrath, and may you find the inspiration to make more of these masterpieces.
I've noticed that many people seem to complain about the alien campaign being too difficult. That's probably why it's labeled as the HARD campaign, and beating it earns you a HARD badge. It's gonna be tough.Yes, your team mates are useless. But I'll bet that was intended. For the first levels, they're fine, because they aren't fighting the raze soldier yet. When the Raze Soldier pops up they become useless. Also notice in the human campaign there is a mission in which you (the raze soldier) demonstrate tactics for recruits (implying that they are being trained as newbie raze soldiers). At roughtly the same time in the alien campaign the humans start to get kills. What I found is if you hunt the raze soldier down yourself, the levels get a lot easier, because he won't be farming your allies. During CTF missions allow your allies to get a few captures while you just defend your own flag. Also get a katana. The katana can knock back projectiles in adition to its actual melee attack.
Amazing Game! Relatively simple, but the different sets of weapons allows players to fight based on their personal preferences. Out of all shooter games like this one (I don't know exactly what category to put it in) I'd say that I've like this one the most.
I went through lvl 1 and saw that the golem was a huge ogre or troll or whatever and thought "Awesome, my character is BA." Lvl 2, I kill a giant rampaging turtle. That's pretty cool too. Lvl three comes and I kill... a giant... flying... seahorse? Wtf? Anyways nice game.
Anyone else notice that if you jump above the laser and fall back down before it turns on, the little yellow escape message painted on the side of the wall changes into a grinning face?
I thought the easiest way to fight the last boss was to use your first magic attack to get close, then hack away for awhile. Then again, i put a lot of points into magic, so it might not work for you attack-levelers. Anyways, i really liked the game. It was funny, fun, and had a decent (if whimsical) storyline. And i loved all the Lord of the Rings and 300 refrences.
Wonderful game! Unmediocre, I really hope that you not only make the sequel, but also other games as well. After playing this game, I can completely see why someone would want to steal it, because it is incredible.
Thanks a lot mate.
