It's a nice start, but it's missing a lot. I'm not sure if you had this or not, but put in wind, so you can speed up by turning away from it (if you already have that, give us an instrument to show us which way the wind is blowing). Maybe give us the ability to control the camera with the mouse? I like Palmer's idea with factions, optional quests, and more dynamic ship characteristics. Maybe give us more cosmetic ship characteristics, too. The firing system is wierd, too. How about choosing two keys, like z and x, to control shooting. For special shots like fireball and mine, the number keys can be used to simply load the cannons with that type of shot, so z and x can be used to fire those, too. My last idea, which might be fairly difficult, would be to allow the boarding of ships for crew battles. I'm going to give this game 3/5, and I hope you make more games, because they are really good. You just need to put in more features.
This game is epic. 5/5. Too bad we can't get all of the spells, though. Also, I found that when killing the dragon, using volcano helps, because the fireballs will cause a lot of damage if most hit, and lightning is really useful for getting rid of the minions that he summons.
Lord Aerist requests your presence immediately. Report to him. Make haste. *Goes to Lord Aerist* "Hail, Whaker. I have an important task for you." *asks for new, super important quest that I was hand-picked for* "Your reputation is too low, come back later." 0.o
I love the ending to the perfect win. That guard is really good at sneaking up behind people who are staking out the castle and knocking them out. Also, with the imperfect win, why are you carrying your dad on your head? anyways, I agree with the Wye01. 10/5
I'd like to point out that if you max out band elasticity and launcher height, you can shoot the hedgehog into space with the use of the rocket pack or colored launchers by just aiming straight up. Great game.
Jst FYI: If y have a poblem loading the game where the screen keeps cycling between the main meu, the armor games logo, and the axis logo, your Flash player is too old.
I don't know about anyone else, but I found acid to be slightly easier than pulse. Pulse works really well against him, yes, but if you're still having trouble, I suggest maxing acid and using that.
On the final level, i stupidly used my bomb early-ish on. When I got to the part right before the boss (and during the boss) my computer started to lag like you wouldn't believe because there were so many enemies shooting way to many shots for my computer to handle. So I decided, "okay, this isn't too bad. I'll blow myself up, upgrade my guns with the money I earned, and save my bomb next time." I rammed into a mountain of bullets... and lost about 60 hp. That's when I realized just how much armour was on my ship. So, I rammed into all of the enemies and their attacks with impunity, and succeeded at whipping the final boss. Heck, the game deserves a 5/5 just for giving maniacs like me the chance to despense whoop-@ss without actually having to shoot. A rare beauty, this game is.
This is an amazing game. There is only one small "flaw" that I would like to point out. The generals aren't really any more difficult than any other large ship. They just take a lot long to kill. Like I said, though: small flaw, and besides that, I completely loved the game.
I agree completely with FatCatAttack. It's a nice game, but it's really slow, and when you've used one strategy, you've used them all. The story is pretty okay, but all of the fights in between just got me bored. Also, like a lot of others have said, why not let us choose our own stats? Anyways, it's an okay game, but needs some work.
Lily: "I know you did it, James. I found an invisible high heel at the scene. I know you love to dress like a lady." I thought that James would say something stupid, like "So do you," but no, he decided to forgo even a comeback and say the even stupider "Only on the weekends." Hilarious game.
I'm just wondering why the dude (the human) owns about 20 different hammers and only, say, 5 or 6 nails? Also, those hammers are totally epic. They set up an evil dungeon and all, complete with bombs, cage traps, pits, porticullises (in case I spelled that wrong: Medieval Gates), etc, and all without actually having thumbs... or hands, for that matter... or any appendeges... wow.
The game isn't bad, it's just not good, either. Promo flash games rarely are any good. I got the badge and stopped playing. It wasn't agonizing to play, but it wasn't really fun. Personally, I think that it would be a lot better if you could get more challenging levels faster, and if the speedrun wasn't rigged so that you could never get a good time and still save whatever those things that you were saving are.
Did anyone else see the really obscure joke at the guardpost? The two guards are Mercutio and Tybalt. Mercutio and Tybalt are also the names of two characters in "Romeo and Juliet". The first part of the joke is that the personalities are switched in the game. Tybalt in the play in hot-headed and violent, but is portrayed as earth in-game (level-headed), while Mercutio in the the play is generally calmer, but is portrayed as fire in-game (hot-headed). The second part of the joke is that both of them died in the play. Tybalt kills Mercutio, and Romeo avenges Mercutio by killing Tybalt. Just wanted to chuck that one out there. There are also a couple even more obscure jokes in what the guards say (so obscure, I wonder if they're there on accident). It's funnier if you've read or seen "Romeo and Juliet".
