It's always nice to see something new. That said, I got tired of the concept kind of quickly. Perhaps it's my own distaste. The game looks and feels very fun, however, until the mechanic wears thin.
You want to make money off of all your hard work in making a game. I understand that. To do that, you make a premium currency that makes the game more convenient and isn't mandatory. Okay, fine. But you cannot make your game so slow and repetitive so that premium currency is a necessity to enjoy yourself. I'd rather buy a great game than play a sub-par one and pay $9.99 to improve my experience. All I see is the husk of what could have been a great strategy game.
Apparently, this is the last game to be made in this series. Pseudolonewolf is abandoning this series and remaking MARDEK as some kind of Central American Virtual Novel with no emphasis on gameplay. Dangit, man, the gameplay was why I loved these games! Sure the writing was funny and great, but I want RPGs to PLAY not watch. Go to http://www.alorafane.com/?page=about_mardek to see the ongoing degeneration of this great series.
The game is fantastic! I loved EC1 and this is miles better! As much as I love it, though, it kind of makes me want a more story-driven version of the game. I've never been too fond of games focused solely on dungeon crawling, though I do love this one. 5/5 regardless, however, jsut for making a great flash rpg.
I enjoy how, despite who is chosen to be your party, there are still lines for everyone throughout the adventure. Usually the freedom to choose your party is at the sacrifice of the plot, but both are available here. The reason, however, is probably due to how this game isn't voiced. This isn't a problem for me, but it is ever voiced, recording hundreds of potential lines for various party configurations might be a challenge.
What was the developer's first language? I can understand the game just fine, but the plethora of syntax errors either means that the developer didn't devote much time to the text or doesn't inherently speak English. Neither is a huge problem though, since the gameplay is very enjoyable!
That was an amazing game! So much fun and entertainment! You clearly put a tremendous amount of effort into making it, and I am so happy I got the chance to play it. Keep up the amazing work; that was one of the best games I've played on Kongregate, or all the Internet for that matter.
I feel like this game took everything I love from RPGs and combined all of them. I love the classes, the humor, and especially, ESPECIALLY, the shared EXP. I absolutely love not having to worry about leveling up my characters individually as they are occasionally separated throughout the story. Wonderful game, just wonderful.
To idontcare11: "Tunnel Snakes Rule" is a reference to Fallout 3. In the starting Vault, there was a gang who called themselves the Tunnel Snakes, and their motto was "Tunnel Snakes Rule."
This game looks really nice and was enjoyable to play. To be perfectly honest, I find the sequel to be much more fun, but that doesn't make this one bad. You clearly put hours upon hours of effort into both of 'em, and I'm thankful to play such fun games.
At the Warport...
Security Officer: "Do you find me attractive?"
Me: "not really"
Security Officer: "TERRORIST!"
I find this hilarious and enraging at the same time!
I was, am, and will continue to be blown away by these games! The effort put in to them really shows, and they stand honorably as great RPG's, rivaling Final Fantasy in gameplay. The script, too, is amazing. I never thought I could laugh just by trying to read a book and having it deny me in a clever way!
I have so many fond memories of this game. Although I find it superb, I have always disliked how I only controlled Sonny. The concept is somewhat more realistic as I cannot control my teammates in reality, however without my guidance, they're a bit... infuriating. I think the ability to change their modes from aggressive to neutral and etc. was a step in the right direction, but I find myself losing time and again due to a certain purple jerk who'd rather heal himself rather than finish off the enemy with 12 health who will heal the next turn! Despite this, this game and its sequel are five star internet RPGs in my book!
What a nice game this was; I enjoyed both the music and the level design. Though getting from point A to B was simple enough, the collectible flowers added a nice touch of difficulty. Well done!
I enjoyed it, well done! Though it was rather short it did allow me to live my life as I were a duck... Which was slightly less disappointing than what it actually is...
