This has several flaws that ruin game play.
Should be able to shoot at angles.
Should either get a bonus for clearing all the bubbles, or at least move the bar to the top. It is too frustrating to lose even though I've cleared it completely simply because the bar drops faster than I can get coins by building up bubble combo's from scratch.
Folks have said 'this would have been more effective as an animation' etc.
No. It would not have. This game uses the fact that people, players, identify with the avatar, sprite, creature they control with their keyboard or mouse - and very effectively puts players in the shoes of the alien.
Judging from derogatory comments here, I suspect that this was the first time some people have ever made a sacrifice for others, and they discovered that self-sacrifice isn't always fun or rewarding.
Everyone else, those who like the game, had already walked the walk in some way, so they saw the beauty as well as the sorrow.
