I love this game for so many reasons. However, there seems to be a fatal, game-breaking flaw: If I put two identical units next to each other that both have the same advantage for firing, one seems to take dominance. One fires and kills things, the other waits. This makes it very difficult to balance units across a battlefield.
I don't see it as plagiarism personally. It takes concepts from the original, but as with any creation, there must be sources. Plus, it's a practice game. Chill out. 5/5 for the amazing music and playability!
So...I somehow made the game glitch on the inventory screen and had a line of previously sold items above what I had equipped. I could then pick them up and if I picked up more than one of the same thing, I'd get an undefined item. =o It was all flashy and stuff!
In response to eskeetmofo (and, by extension, SGFAZ3), the music from Mega Man is amazing. Actually, only the Mega Man X music was awesome, but still...don't call him a loser because he knows good music. Oh, yeah. 5/5 for the game. Spectacular.
Alrighty then. I just entered the second cave (Ice Bats), and I was invisible. I left the cave, and I was at the entrance to the third (Poison Bats) cave. I'm confused.
Wow! Good game. As for those that are ripping on it: there is nothing wrong with improving a concept and making it your own. And, for those that are good at this game: Could you help me with level 14?
