Too bed there's absolutely no strategy involved: armored only ? lime-yellow better than poison and amor tearing. Swarm only ? lime-yellow is better than bloodhound. Gem bombs ? useless. Shrines ? useless. TL;DR: lime+yellow.
'better use poison and armor tearing: NO: LIME-YELLOW IS BETTER. Swarm ? 'better use bloodhoun
Great idea, revival of one of my favorite games of all times. Only 4/5 because of this critical bug: sometimes the game enters a "buggy" mode: some sprites remain fixed on screen, and it's impossible to raise/lower land anymore.
It could be a 5/5 game. But a few horrible things make it a 3/5 game:
1) - It is painfuly slow. Seriously, 7 Mhz year 1986 Amiga were running more complex game at full speed. Flash is not an excuse to require a 3Ghz computer to run such a game smoothly.
2) - Please, a quality setting...
3) - Mouse scroll zones on map are far too large, they keep annoying me when I want to select a unit. And as the game run at one image/sec, this is horribly painful.
4) - Missions finish even if you did not complete secondary objectives. So you loose XP and money. Come on, let the player decides if he wants HIS army to go home.
Lots of possibly good games have a big monstruosity that ruins everything.
This game could be good, if only the army you build didn't disappear after each battle...
Bug: the wave (and then the whole level) never ends when enemies on fire have escaped.
Besids this, nice sounds and graphics. Difficulty well balanced and chanllenging.
A few problems:
- Random is probably too random. In real life, you may get 6 identical figures in one shoot. A pseudo-random number generator will probably never give such a result.
- No way to get several zilch free games. One is hard, two is very hard, 3 is barely impossible. You'll have to play several thousand of hours to get 5 zilch-free games.
