Starsword with a frozen ring/amulet that happens to have a high poison modifier on it means every time I hit someone, everyone around me is frozen for a moment and then dies. Huzzah!

So I beat the game, but I don't get to keep any of my runes like I could if I'd died?

I have an aimed, piercing, 25fp spell that does 1,104 damage, plus slow for 22 turns. I think these glyphs are stacking weird. And a cloud that lasts 52 turns, heals me for 135 every second on top of Dodge (which makes me nigh unkillable anyway), and includes a 100 damage Poisoncoat. I can do nothing and defeat anything. Wheeee!

Another great combination; snipe, max perception, and an aimed pierce range run. You can deliberately aim beyond your foes and to tremendous damage for very little flux. I got an 8 flux, 108 damage aimed piercer that inflicts 12x10 burning and -18 weakness. And a fire cloud that does 72dps for 5 seconds. Wooo! Hope I don't kill myself this time!

Here was my strategy; I got a 5 damage, 1 flux basic attack rune. Stack perception, max it out with an aimed-spark %power boost rune, and combine with a maxed-out Powerful, Swift, and Remedy, Dodge and Split heal-buff that heals 44hp/turn while I attack twice each turn at a 10:1 ratio of damage:flux. Because I use split, the buff takes very little flux; because I use dodge, I take no damage from Split. Cast it over myself again and I've doubled the effect of Powerful for the same flux cost. Booyah! It's fun when you get into strategy. And then you kill yourself in a cloud of death that does 70 dps. And then I kill myself in one shot with my overpowered main spell. Twice. At levels 8 and 9.

Useful tips for those who don't know: the boss's jewel can be hit, with or without ranged attack, for a reasonable amount of damage. When you get the Fly powerup, don't get hit or you lose it. Grenades can be thrown varying distances by using UP (far) and DOWN (drops ~1 square ahead). Also, you can bore into the wall with Break and then range-attack your bosses jewels depending on the level for a guaranteed win; just have to make sure you have level ground in front of your bore. Also depends on their type. the mage boss that brings meteors can be troublesome.

Great tips!

I think partial cake should, when eaten at full health, add up to eventually get a random bonus (e.g. crate). I just had a screen with 2 full cakes and 10 partial cakes and I feel cheated. Plus, you'd have a choice; eat now, get bonus, or save to heal later?

Hey, I really like that idea... definitely going in the sequel!

Wings are super awesome, but it's incredibly easy to accidentally pick up a powerup you don't want (e.g. leather helmet vs daft) or... to go through the exit when you just wanted to fly up to the attack upgrade so you could up to 11. But even with all those oh s**t moments, this game is so surprisingly fun!

7 attack 80 ammo, all upgrades, level 10... ripping bosses because I figured out I can attack their jewel... and for the second time, I accidentally grabbed a leather helmet instead of my daft punk helmet! Ahh! What an evil trap.

The jewel on the bosses helmet, if hit by ranged attack, will kill them! Technically, you can always win regardless of upgrades! Thanks to Camelfoe for asking first and dev for responding!

It will work even if you don't have the ranged attack, it just taked more skill and courage to get that close without getting hit in return!

*spoiler* So I played this for a couple of hours and thought I had everything down a while ago when SURPRISE, flight wings!? Heck yes!

A second interesting note. It's impossible to jump up only one block height when there is another block above it and you have super jump boots. I was unable to get the rockets I needed to defeat the boss because of this. Not a huge issue, or is it even? Perhaps deliberate in the spirit of rouge-like? Or most likely a coincidence.

Tap jump for short jump height.

LOVE IT. It would be fantastic, though, if the unused up arrow forced a glide without jumping in those cases where I have super boots, but want to glide off a ledge...

The game progresses VERY slowly until you get to tier 4. Then you can level like mad until you can actually defeat cpu kitties relatively easily, or at least enough to be worth your time... I think there should be more fish in the 2nd and 3rd levels. I repeated them waaaaay too many times. BUT, this was fun and awesome despite apparent memory leak!

The Tactician craft actually has 5 weapon slots, the 5th just isn't displayed. Booyah. Click on the 5th box, it's like a secret weapon. Upvote for visibility! Share the awesomeness!

I got spinners and things started taking a LONG time to finish up. Each time I move to another tab and return focus, if I wait long enough, I am catapulted far, far into space. The longer I wait the higher I go. I think the explosions don't take effect when the game isn't in focus.

It took about an hour, and it wasn't easy, but I got gold on everything. It's hard but not too crazy. The first level of finals, alpine peak, WOW that's fun =)

The control upgrade doesn't appear to improve the control for the X-fighter according to the GUI.
