One of the best things ANY game should ever have is replayability and this has it. I do also thing at some point you should be able to add a teammate in Campaign. Quick match has it but I'd like to see some playing around with it in Campaign, though it's still a fun game without it. Also, other than colors you should add maybe achievements or rewards or buyable vanity/functional gear for each class; helmets, boots vests, visors, etc. With that said there could also be room for attachments on guns like: red dot, ACOG, extended barrel, extended magazine. Any of these could be vanity or functional and I know a lot of big franchise games make use of this function as well but it proves that it adds more dimension to the game even if it is a side scrolling arcade game. These are merely just suggestions and other than that the game is awesome.
Would it be possible to have at least one character saved after you die permanently? I don't know about everyone else but I love this game and I'd be willing to pay one time premium just for one perma character. Just a thought.
Was not expecting Necronator 2 to be like this. Doesn't anyone realize there's a reason why we have the saying, "If it's not broken don't fix it?" There was nothing wrong with the playing style the previous game had why drastically change it? You don't throw a boulder on a scale and expect to fine tune a game when it only requires just that. Sorry but the sequel is just a turn off to what I was expecting.
As much as people say they like dying and remaking a character. All the major mmos let you keep your levels and characters. I guarantee you if you make it so you can keep your character after death you'd have a lot more loyal player base and more new players joining the game.
I don't think the upgrades scale well with the difficulty of the waves. On the wave with the dogs if you don't have an upgrade you'll get rushed by zombies. Ironically by then you still don't have enough money to hold your own.
As for the art, I don't think it's either. It hasn't gotten better and it hasn't gotten worse either. Personally, the sprites just look bigger, the battlefield zoomed in or compacted more. Detail-wise they may seem better, maybe they are more detailed, but on first glance...looks the same to me. As a developer if you're going to make a #5 of a game entitled with "Epic" in it. You CANNOT lessen the amount of units especially when the previous game allowed more than twice as many units. That's not epic. One last thing is...I always feel like I'm constantly on the assault. In Epic War 4 I felt like it could be either way, if you didn't send your units you had them swarming over you if you took too long, especially during a boss battle and a hero unit was on the field. In EW5 I just feel like a constant assaulter. Having pressure would keep players on their toes. Literally since I started writing this comment, I've just left my arm sitting in one spot. For now...that is all.
I think the only one thing I'm sure of is that the music is a lot more epic. As for the gameplay I believe most of us feel as if there have been many improvements but at the same time many things that you have taken out or have not incorporated into this sequel that is questionable. I still have mixed feelings. For one the mini map which has already been addressed. I do like the new upgrade system however it feels lacking in someway that I haven't been able to pinpoint just yet. The system is interesting and different but there's just something missing that I can't quite put my finger on. Maybe another fan will say something about it. I'm on the second "continent" and so far it feels too easy. Maybe it's just me but the battles don't feel quite as epic. The previous game it felt more like you had to plan out your attack even though there were and still are only two movements, retreat and advance. Epic War 5 feels less...strategic?
Partner finally died at level 16. Took my SAW with her :/...well I'm done playing since companions are just meh. Hopefully if there's a sequel they'll take my suggestion to heart.
>_< lol. Now that you said that, I'll probably see coco puffs every time I play.
