Definitely a creative and inspiring idea with a ton of potential! The idea that an AI woke you up because it didn't want to die alone is touching and a wonderful outside the box perspective to take. Take everyone's advice on enhancing the game! My suggestion would be to make a way to save the AI and possibly even the entire ship. I think you're already aware of the need to enhance the "speech recognition" part... but definitely allow a bit more interaction with the environment. It would be great to be able to work with the AI to restore functionality to the navigation system and save both of you. Keep up the great creative story-telling, it's refreshing!
I gave you a three for fooling me into trying to figure out the code for so long; as far as execution... the game doesn't actually reward you with anything at the end. In your future games, keep in mind that there is a common goal that ALL games have: Some sort of reward. If you don't reward your players for working so hard to solve your puzzle, you are setting yourself up for failure! I know, I'm just some nerd complaining about not being able to see some hot poon on the internet, but its the principal of the matter! You don't promise a fat guy food without feeding him, and you don't tempt sleazy internet lurkers without satisfying their... oh, I see what you did there. Trolled. :( Hint: Just keep pressing tab and space and it will solve itself. Careful, it resets several times and you will have to press tab twice to keep from failing.
Make it clear which team is yours - some dumbass like me is going to sit there staring at the bottom-right of the screen going "WHY AREN'T YOU BUILDING MY UNITS!? WHY AREN'T THERE COMMENTS ABOUT ALL THESE GLITCHES!!?? WHY AM I LOSING??? ... Oh wait, I'm up there..." Make it dumb-ass proof, please. Thank you.
Sad that I knew all but one answer with a FIRM certainty. ie. Marriage age was probably the saddest as I insantly knew, clicked, and felt filthy for being right. For the record I got the beer question wrong.
Not really fun and very laggy... Graphics vary from crappy (the boxes) to decent (the zombies). Work on the size of the textures and the jerky game-play... make the levels more interesting and pick up the AI so the zombies don't get stuck kissing a box the entire time you're shooting them.
Oh, and 1st.
I thought the game was pretty neat. What it lacks in graphics it makes up for in originality and a bit of lame humor (but that's not always bad). A couple notes, though: You have to set the torch inside one of the white squares on your map first, and then bring the alien to the flame to set him on fire. He will instantly burst into flames. If you are having trouble gaining cash, just wait until a fight breaks out and don't press Start Fight. You can sit there as long as you like and the cash will keep coming in. I let it sit over-night came back with over 5 million dollars (not that its even remotely necessary). If you don't want to cheat, though, just build the main buildings and ALL of the houses and the money will flow much faster.
I liked it, but you may want to pause the money coming in when a fight starts to keep sneaky people like me from cheating.
Four levels in and bored as crap. Beautiful looking game but without it being a mad-onslaught of enemies its SO crappy waiting for them to show up. Good idea, but damn it needs to be more exciting.
I really love the concept of this game but I'm too impatient to wait 20 minutes (at least) for my next play. There is a reason web-based games are web-based and not flash-based. People lose interest very quick.. oo a penny.
trumpet_girl - have to pick up the gift after wrapping it, making it so you can do two at a time.
Not a great game. Pretty boring. Check-marks imply you can perform multiple tasks but you can't. Gruesomely dull for an already potentially dull genre.
