The game is not bad, its simplicity combined with its nice graphics make it charming, but it does get very repetetive after a short while, and is not really challenging, since all you have to do is fly arround the edges of the screen constantly. Still, I'd say 4/5.
If you're lucky enough, you'll begin with something, that can stick a bit out on the sides of the base, so that you can make the tower wider - that's how I managed the (easy imo) imp badge :)
This is actually not as bad, as I thought at first. There are better shooters out there, but this one is pretty nice as far as they go. And as for the gold times:gold medals: #1=2 minutes. #2=3 minutes 30 seconds #3=2 mnutes 15 seconds #4=2 minutes 15 seconds #5=2 minutes repost this when near the bottom. keep it alive
I've finished the game earlier, after two or three tries. It's actually easy, you just have to take the upgrades in a certain order. Make maxing out friendly ships your priority - it's the key to keeping your base safe (and letting you play long enough, to get the other upgrades). Number two - beam strentgh. 3 - shiels. At this point the game should be laughably easy. Just buy all remaining upgrades (bonus weapons make fighting easier) or not, and go for the final boss. Easy.
Ok, I take that back. It lacks two things: keybord shortcuts and an option to cancel drawing after pressing the mouse button, but before letting it go. It's still 5/5, just these two things would make me happier :)
The game is actually very easy, you just have to figure out a strategy. Basicly there are three rules you should keep in mind in order to easily win every game:
1. Attack the big circles. Attack from the small circles. Having 3 big circles is far better than having 9 small ones. On the other hand, the smaller the circle, the more you can afford loosing it.
2. Don't attack a grey circle untill just after the enemy does. If the enemy sends out 31 points against a 30 point circle, all you have to do is to send out just arround 5 more to take over the circle.
3. Let as little as possible circles reach their limit - especially the small ones. When they do, send all their points to a single small one chosen to mass the points, or attack. Make sure you do those things and you can't loose.
Ok. It's NOT TRUE that the levels are generated randomly. Each level is made out of a few pieces, level slabs. These slabs can either be random (and appear on every map) or built in (thus appearing only on levels they are built into), though not always in the exactly same place (i'm not sure about the last part). For some reason, people sometimes find the giga egg on lvl 2, but I guess it might be a random slab for lvl 2. Then again, it's a designated slab on lvl 5 and I think in one of the speedruns (Dino Mountain?).
Anyway, I'm still trying to manage the insane challenge run. With all my stats maxed out it's still hard as hell.
Most of the ddr-type games I've played so far were better than this. Music based games can be so much better, prettier and more satisfying. This one is planely weak.
The game is grate, very pleasant and calming. Unfortunately - it's also too random and luck-based. Also, the hard badge should be a medium badge, since getting a 50x multiplier practicly means you'll get 2 mln points in the end (unless you loose it right after you gain it). And since it's not really difficult to get even a 75x multiplier (I got 96 and over 3.5 mln points on my fourth try with the game), the requirements for the badges are too low in my opinion.
