"standard chess rules" say that if the chessclock hits 0, the player who has taken so long to make their move loses. This game does not appear to have a chessclock, so a lot of people seem to just sit there, doing nothing whatsoever, knowing that their opponent will have little option but to leave the game, leaving them as the winner.
So, in short, this game is fundamentally flawed. There are much better multiplayer chess games than this on Kongregate. Why this one keeps coming to the top of my searches, I'll never know.
I find the controls a bit laggy, but on the whole, that's more than likely to be due to my hardware.
The game has pleasing visuals and audio, but as people have said, the blind leaps of faith are the bane of this game.
It's a rather dull game, on the whole, but I can appreciate that this game is an attempt to teach people the basis of flash-game-making. So really, it's not as bad as it seems. We need more things like this to teach the people of the world how to make decent web content. Really, I'm quite pleased to see a tutorial here, and I hope that other game-makers take this on board and soon start making tutorials of their own.
Kudos for making the internet a better place, Kongregate!
