The new regeneration system has made mages a lot less effective- they will automatically all retarget any black mages on the towers and mostly miss them. How about setting it so that how many mages can target the towers at any time is equal to the number of remaining units?
Thanks for the note, and interesting thought, it would make sense to not have all target the towers or same target at the same time. I'll explore options to improve this.
Thanks for the game, is great fun. Playing it again... chopping down buildings is very slow. Would probably be good to speed it up. Later when you add siege weapons, that should be a way to quickly smash buildings even while enemies are still there, in the meantime your units should get a damage buff when all enemies are dead so that you can get through buildings. Perhaps later it'd be fun to have some traps too, so you'd have more tactics in leading enemy hordes back to your castle to put them in a deadly meatgrinder, so that there was more variety in what you had to overcome.
Great comment, thanks for trying the game!
You are spot on, I am hoping to have the siege engine implementation and building upgrades work to make the building destruction more interesting and more tactical.
All of the upgrades, bar power, have linear growth and exponential costs. This means they are very quickly too expensive to do much. Adding in more upgrades won't do much, it takes too much time to level up at the moment. If you go from a 6-7 * bonus and it costs 100 times more it's clearly not going to make much difference.
It is a very good and fun game, but there are some serious oversights in it that weaken it.
1st. You tried to make it somewhat realistic with turn speeds and motion. However you didn't make an especially good ai for the ships. They get very confused by anything more than the simplest of movement and even get confused on the simplest of movements.
2. You made lots of ships with different speeds but due to armor and the way the enemies work the only realistic strategy is to group your units together behind heavy shields and shoot at the enemy. If you send a small weak unit off then that small weak unit gets shot. As such a lot of your content is useless. Cloaks, teleporters, variable speeds. Armor just makes them even more useless.
This is why you need beta testers. This game could have been a lot better with some minor tweaks. It was fun as it is, but rather frustrating.
Pretty easy. Focus on defence, strength, and reproduction. Agility and speed are useless. Go for the 2strength or 2reproduction first always. I wonder, is it possible to have full strength and defense and reproduction, and have some agility or speed? It'd have to be very optimal.
