thank you for giving a color change to things I am big enough to eat; making us guess relative areas of different shapes would have been cruel, and par for the course. Also, totally addictive even though I suck. Just enough challenge to keep me engaged while struggling through the end levels. Looking forward to v2 and/or expansions!
2 new issues for me:
1) bought 10Qi upgrade for 6th microchip, and no new slot was awarded.
2) progress bar doesn't account for already earned GOLD when calculating time remaining. At 11T/s GOLD earned it estimates 19 days remaining; this is correct if I have earned no GOLD yet (18.9 if there's no rounding on the numbers displayed). At 10Qi total GOLD earned it should say 8.4 instead since there are only 8Qi gold remaining to be earned instead of the entire 18Qi.
Looking forward to seeing the ending!
What is the purpose of the "total" displayed after each run? I can't tell that it's recorded anywhere, it doesn't contribute to my gold, and the endurance mode at the end ranks you on distance only. It's pointless, and makes the wheel spin also pointless unless you hit a resurrect.
Answer for people having trouble with research:
The "Lab" component needs to be powered with both board power (uses 15 power on activation)
AND
power cells generated by an "extractor" component. The power cell is the red dot that travels along your wires. Collect 5 red power cells with the "Lab" component to output one blue "research" cell. Collect the blue research cells in the "researcher" component (blue circle) to convert them into collected research and increase your research score.
Research cells can also be sold for GOLD by collecting them with a "seller" component (gold circle).
The developer should change the description of the lab component to say "converts 5 POWER cells into 1 research cell." This would clear up some of the confusion for beginners.
popper hunter is broken for me since the update :(
Re-speccing took a while, can we have an option to buy 10x, 25x, 100x, etc plinkagon upgrades at once?
Thanks for letting me know - I'll be taking a look at that this weekend. I added an option to hold shift for x10 and alt for x100 purchasing a while back.
Why is the skull animation from Angel Sacrifice being applied to hiring a manager?
Also, I'm seeing the blink when purchasing the cash upgrade; it looks like the upgrade menu is disappearing for a frame or two after I click.
Amendment to previous comment: helmet works, but requires activation; unfortunately, the game gives no instructions on this. Press H to activate, lasts 15 seconds at max upgrade.
Upgrades should make you suck less, not more. Since this isn't the case, please provide a way to either selectively downgrade skills or reset and re-spec the skills for the team.
one complaint, feel free ti ignore if you'd like: it's hard to know which purchase will give best value for the money. I'm literally entering the costs and benefits into a spreadsheet as I play to figure it out; without that recruitment and magic cost/benefit would be impossible to guess. Perhaps you intend that to be part of the game; if so, fine. You may also consider stats for "gold/(increase/sec)" stats to be confusing for players and take up too much room in the UI; that's fine, too. Just realise that you're making upgrade optimization a meta-game that has to be played outside your interface. In my opinion there's enough strategy choice with just economy/magic/recruitment/defense balance, the guessing game of cost/benefit isn't needed.
FYI, I'm having fun with it; I wouldn't complain if I didn't care =)
I take your point but I thats kinda what I wanted from the game that people would weigh the benefits of there choices and try different set ups, I think there are a lot of very intelligent people that use Kongregate and the cost/benefit layer will add a more challenging game aspect that they have to find ways to play it differently ie.using spreadsheets :)
couple of questions, I'd love if you could explain in tutorial:
* What happens to points I don't spend between games? Are they lost, or can I save them up for when I'm higher level?
* Is it really impossible to win? What happens when my lightning strike rate exceeds the recruitment rate for the invaders and they reach army size of zero?
In theory you have to spend ALL points between games on the game over screen to trigger the play again button..and you can reset points also so spend them, will try and add some explanation on the level up pop up
Needs improvement, but not a bad concept piece. Here are some suggestions:
* allow more time to see the object to search for before starting the timer (although not imposing a penalty for looking at the list offsets this a little). Alternately, leave the list visible during play.
Make the items more recognizable. The the white bag with a star on it could be anything, the mashed potatoes look like soup, "stuffing" looks like a pizza, the white wine is in a red bottle, and the "sour cream" is in an open bowl. I can understand if this is being translated from a different language/culture, but please work on the culture adaptation as well.
* mix the objects to be found; presented in the same order every time offers no replay value.
* more content - the game was very short, this seemed like a demo instead of a full game.
I like this genre, so I gave it two stars. Not a bad start, but disappointing for a sequel.
Moving the mouse outside the game area makes you stuck in place. Considering how much time I spend chasing bloops at the bottom of the screen this bites me far more often than I like. I've played other games where they get this right, so it is possible to get the mouse's position; game devs, please fix this.
Glitched for me; I tried to upgrade the core 'rangs to sai, and the upgrade never showed up. I reloaded the game, and it gave me a "failed to connect" message. Now I can't play =(
The "current missions" system is a bit frustrating - I get to Colonel rank with all the upgrades I want purchased, and I've only got 25 out of 100.
I also have to agree with FenceDiddy about deactivating upgrades. Even a way to reset all the upgrades and refocus would be nice.
If we could also get a switch to have money and experience stop dropping once all the upgrades/ranks are earned it would reduce screen clutter and distraction.
Other than that, great game! 5 stars, I've really enjoyed playing.
Hi, Is the scrollbars removed now?
