Nevermind. Seems it must be a level on the main storyline for it to count.
Pyrotechnics Medal seems broken. At first I tried only firing from the shoulder. When that didn't work I removed my main gun entirely. Still no medal.

Heh. All 30 in one shot on one of the later levels. Cat was too big to get to the bottom. WTB suicide "stuck" button.

Fun game, but try as I might, I could not find a way to lose at it. More of a puzzle game than anything.
