I came back to this game after a long hiatus and am having issues using things like monster boxes, magic lamps and cool flyers. I'm sure it was all explained during a tutorial while playing before, but it's been so long (and so many other games) that I can't recall how to do that. Perhaps a help button/screen to remind myself and others who might one day return about game mechanics?
Very nice take on a rouge-like. I have two suggestions (both have already been suggested).
First, I'd like to see the enemy hit points as a bar showing percentage of HP left. Why? If after a few rounds I haven't moved the HP bar any, then I know to run away. If the foe is almost dead and I'm almost dead, I can gamble with a few hits. I feel that's more fun that just blindly attacking and monitoring my health/mana.
Second, I would like to be able to scroll around the map to plan my route to a town portal or the stairs down. Currently, if none are on screen I have to just click a random spot on the map and hope I don't wind up in a dead end and have to back track. This can be boring when the enemies are too weak (space bar tax!) or frustrating when enemies are too strong (arg!, would have made if I hadn't take that left turn at Albuquerque!).
And while those would be nice additions, it won't stop me from playing if they're not implemented--the game is too fun. Great job!
hi thx for your message, for the hp bar I will add it. IF you leave a monster, they actually go back to full hp. The map I added a zoom which is alot better than before, helps to see most of the map. I could make an extra zoom possible would that be a good idea ?
I made it to the mansion without getting the screwdriver and now I'm stuck. Can't leave and can't get inside. Had to restart as refreshing the browser and continuing the game put me right back in the mansion window. :(
I don't generally like rogue-likes because they often scale the difficulty way too quickly. However, I think you struck a good balance with this one. Just found this game and spent the day playing it. Haven't finished a dungeon yet, but I did get far enough several times to not be totally frustrated with the game.
Each class is enjoyable (though I fee the rogue is lacking in talents), and I really appreciate that you can multi-class by finding/buying class books (and the increased, difficult choices of where to spend skill and talent points). I don't often rate games either, but I wanted to give this one props for rescuing me from the idle games that have sucked up my time these past few months.
Thank you for a fun and entertaining game!
Acquisition of Guildeans is waaaaay too slow. I had more fun with Alpha, even with the issues it had. Now I only log in once a day to collect chests with crossed finger hoping, just hoping that I get a new Guildean (and I'm dissapointed waaaay more often than not).
My game no longer saves after the 0.07 update! =( No matter how far I progress or how long I leave the game open, if I leave the game and come back I'm right back on level 77.
