Thernan I wholeheartedly disagree. This game is playable, decent actually. The contols aren't even that hard to get used to. Thus far, the level of dificulty of the CPU makes it easy to shift from moving (Arrows + spacebar to jump.) to shooting (Mouse + dodging : either arrows or spacebar.) without dieing. Don't call it unplayable simply because of unorthodox controls. You don't need three hands, just two quick hands. BTW, the jump, mute, tree in first level, and the falling blocks in the third level? are buggy.
Hmm... Needs music or at least sound effects like iceberg said. And I think this type of game would be better with keyboard controls rather than mouse clicking.
Some suggestions :
Make it obvious when you´ve lost. Meaning either put text or use a different animation when you place the letter markers. I didn´t know if I lost or not sometimes.
An actual man being hung would be nice. :D
put a more interesting background.
Also, I don´t know why, but I have to click on the game screen everytime a new word appears. :S
It is truely sad that some people need to cheat to beat this game. Easy game.
If you can't get past the "white paintbrush tool FTW level" you simply suck.
My only real beef with this game is that the super small asteroids do the same amount of damage towards the shooter and the city as medium sized asteroids.
And a tip for beating any level : Just pick a city block, left, center, or right, and defend only that. This game is not that hard.
This has some serious glitches/bugs.
Like dieing after moving one space when the enemies are obviously too far away to do anything. One time when there was 5 enemies three of them dissappeared after the first move, and a red "dragon?" thing suddenly appeared.
:/
This game was so innovating and attention catching, with halting twists, insane plots in the story line, and to top it off superb graphics and amazing content and extra features.
This is games are about.
:D
At least put instructions somewhere, or a menu so that you can click start.
I didn't like the fact I was thrown into the game imediately, and that I had to find out the controls. (Even if it isn't that hard to find.) That cost me some health.
Also, somehow I beat the game with 0 health. lol
Do that, make it harder, and more content. :D
No one will take your games seriously if you make demos like this.
Try actually starting the game, and then the demo would be the first two missions, kinda like you did here. But if that is what the actual game looks and works like, the game won't be up for long unless it is WAY better.
Can I make some suggestions? The player's ship cannot go to the ends of the screen, thus causing enemy ships to be out of reach.
It sucks not knowing when your powerup is going to end. If it's by time, show the seconds ticking away, if its by ammo, show how much ammo you have left.
The boss is far to easy.
This is basically a very linear, basic game. Like cornoth said, add more stuff to it. Most likely the more the better.
One idea is to combine powerups rather than switching powerups upon contact.
