Tip for anyone tired of messing with all the invincible enemies while finding the last items: don't worry. there are the save points all over the place, that fill your health. Just charge on through, shooting randomly, and you'll be fine.
Oh, check that, just played through with the thief and it was great fun. he's actually insanely powerful. How many minotaurs did I just kill? like 20? I only had to kill one as the wizard!
This is truly a game that is good enough to play through with all the characters. Diablo, eat your heart out :)
This game is broken. Here's how to fix it:
(very simple)
Add a multiplier of the money you get from each kill times the number of pots in play. Adjust numbers accordingly.
Done. Now the game will be unbroken, and the player won't be rewarded for standing above one pot holding the mouse button down for 20 minutes.
Jet Fighter Pilot: Corporal Fulton looks like he's in trouble down there, fighting 1800 zombies all by himself. Should we go in and provide air support?
Base (via intercom): Are you trying to get courtmartialed? You know the orders. We've been counting, and he's only killed 42 within 5 seconds of each other. Hold your fire!
It's really nothing more than a numbers game. You have to deliver X damage per second on each side in order to survive. Fall below that, you die. So it's impossible early on with the low damage weapons, but unlock the minigun or jackhammer and it's easy, unless you run out of ammo. There isn't much more to the game than that. My one pet peeve was that the final level rifle had less ammo than the level below. All the people who are complaining about ammo not accumulating don't understand the game. You're supposed to run out of ammo and have to constantly be scrounging for it. That's kind of the whole challenge of the game.
I wish the last boss after the survival wave wasn't just the 'final boss' recycled..i was so excited to see the secret boss :(
Played until ih ad 10k in the bank and nothing to spend it on, and then...?
Awesome. Shmup nirvana. hard as hell. They don't get much better than this, although too short and bosses repetitive. Also, gets pretty easy once you upgrade your cannon, everything just melts before you. Also, total disconnect between missile v. cannon damage. Still, Solid 5/5.
Let me explain what this game does to your brain: Every time you hit a triplet, you get a tiny boost of dopamine. You feel just a little bit happy, a tiny bit. It quickly receeds. Next time, you get another boost. Because of the hex layout, you get a LOT of triplets. Thousands and thousands. So your brain is constantly producing little spurts of dopamine while you play it. Thus it's compulsively playable even if not exactly fun. The end result is that you feel burned out due to dopamine exhaustion.
As well as this, it's intensely left brain, and can exhaust the analytical pattern finding side of the brain. It's a really mentally exhausting game to play.
This is a good game. I have it five stars. It's very challenging and a good twist on the theme. It's very well programmed. But I have to be honest, this game is very bad for your mental health. I just beat it, and I feel absolutely listless and awful.
