Took me a few minutes to figure out the BOTD. I initially skipped it and finished the game then went back to the level.
HINT: The smell of smoke stays on smoker's clothes.
Hope that doesn't give it away. Took me awhile to think outside the box! :P

I get why she died! The smoke triggered switches were mostly metaphorical (Like the lazers) but real actual things like the buttons she could not push were in the real world. So when the real actual button was pushed as she was standing on a real actual button controlled ledge over space... Good night Kathryn!

Its a good and original game but my comp isn't all that great The rain at the end made it glitchy and annoying. But I still enjoyed it.

Something like a shift-click to blow a smoke ring or something would be nice, as well as auto-smoke toggle. I keep moving too far left on one of the swamp levels (key sticking?), and it's annoying having to repeatedly blow a ring and/or smoke through passages.

A good game over all. I felt some of the new stuff was not clear when you moved to a new area some times. I also am not sure how I feel about that ending. keep up the good work.

For those on you who are stuck on chapter 4 (I was stuck on it for at least a good half hour), here's a tip: the rain can toggle the light switches, too. so if you can manage letting the rain hit the light switch, the door will open for you.

BTW, if you want the challenge, but dont want to get to level 17, you can use the lvl 17 cheat and it still counts if you beat the EHUP :P

Five out of five. This game is profoundly moving, and presents its gameplay mechanics with all the ingenuity that Portal did. I really, really like this game. Full Review: http://gameolosophy.com/games/on-flash-games-54-fixation/

Okay, I can understand why people might not plus my previous comment, but why all the minuses? All I did was say I didn't like the game and why I didn't like it.

Didn't like this the first time I tried it so I gave it 2/5. Came back to give it a second chance since it was BoD and decided I needed to correct it to 1/5. The idea is nice, but the blowing smoke mechanic just is way too finicky for the type of game I like to play.

Played through the first chapter, was liking the game. Went to work, came home, fired it up again, and all I get is the opening screen.

I'm sure if you add a skip button to skip through the dialogue you'd have a higher rating. I'm pretty sure you have a lower rating than what this game deserves because some people are just lazy and doesn't want to read everything. This game deserves a waaayyyy better rating than what it currently has.

I played this once and liked what I saw of it, but I haven't been able to play it since. It either doesn't go to the loading screen or gets stuck at it:(

@quang100: To get past Chap. 2 Lvl 4 you need to have Thomas (aka TheSphinz) press the buttons. If you run up to the first button, he should appear and help you. When you drop down, continuously blow smoke on the lamp, and he will automatically jump across the platforms and press the second button.

3/5 artwork was ok, puzzles were more irritating due to in-game functions (lazer beams going through smoke for example) rather than actually difficult or hard to figure out. And getting sick of the pseudo psychological 2d crap that many flash game developers apparently think is the only way to be story driven nowadays. It always just feels like its trying to be braid but doing a much worse job.

Uh, I think I broke the game. In the final level/cut scene, you can apparently move around, but your invisible. If you move to the end it loops the beginning of the same level, then acts like you completed the level, and starts over the same process... its fixed by refreshing the page though.

After a few tries at the EHUP to no avail, I decided that the pont of the puzzle was that it was impossible, and you just need to let some things go. Feeling satisfied, I went downstairs with the doctor and completed the story. Only after I looked at the badge list did I realize I'm just bad at puzzle games.

Games that are heavy on story (a very well-written story especially) should not have levels like 4-4 that permanently stop the progression due to being ABSOLUTELY INFURIATING.

You can interact with the rings you blow by moving close to them. Doing so allows you to push them around, which is how you complete the EHUP challenge.

some very nice HIDDEN smoke movement dynamics, also the 2-6 is neither mentioned about being able to use the double jump IF first fall of a ledge then try to jump 5/5 (story, puzzle challenge, ect)

Great game, indeed. In fact, it struck home quite remarkably in that the main character blissfully forgets his experiences that which most people would find rather memorable- forgetting being one of my greatest fears.
