Wow. You can only truly appreciate the last playable level if you've played The Company Of Myself. As it was in TCOM, I didn't want to let Kathryn go. It was really sad, and the only Flash game I've played that made me feel something other than anger at the lagging times.

The level design describes the situation in the hearts ... I am so much impressed by the love to details you mastered here ... This deserves 10 points actually, perfection bonus

That you implanted the music variation AND the unready version of Jack's skill from company of myself, is overwhelming!!!

My All-time favorite lines:
Jack-"I can't tell if that is a belief or a coping mechanism."
Kathryn-"What's the difference?"

In the end she dies, but that level, I guess in a way you can see that jack indirectly killed her both in the game sense and reality sense. Since he never really spoke out against her smoking it eventually killed her. Also at that level there was no need for smoking, so I guess that she did end up quitting but it was already too late. Just my interpretation but wow, simple game with a nice touching well thought out story, I love it

Something I realized. Fixation is a prequel of the game Company of Myself. In that game it's stated that Kathryn dies in a flower bed but is said to not have been murdered. She died because of lung failure while tending the garden of the Meadow

Just as I was about to go looking for how to beat the EHUP, I found it. If you blow a smoke ring, it will not reach, not matter how close you get to the no-smoking zone. So stand anywhere in that smoking spot, blow a ring towards the trigger, and run with the ring. It lasts much longer and I found this out by accident. Please rate up so other confused players can see this! =)

"A somewhat different prequel to The Company of Myself. Solve puzzles as Kathryn (the girl in the original game), starting before she met Jack."
SO THEY GOT SMALLER?

Awesome. Really neat graphics, really strange story, really awesome puzzles. Really really loved it... not as much as the sequel, though. It's, maybe, too strange.
I gave this a 94/100, while The Company of Myself is definitely a 100/100.

so according to this if i smoked i could block lasers aand shoot rings of solidified smoke, possibly to break things? just a joke btw

A really beautiful game that I can't say enough good things about. And playing the first game only makes it more poignant.

Once I exit after the first dialogue scene at the beginning of Chapter 1, all it does is go to the flashing yellow and white lights on the left hand side of the screen... and that's all the further it will go. Help?

I found out how to complete the EHUP. Here's a hint: You can move smoke rings and make them last longer by moving into them. Good luck.

Finally got it to work although the rain effects did slow me down more than with the other chapters. But what's been said about the game has been said. All I can add after staring at the last image is: nice Jack has both a PSone and a Gamecube.

Great game. If anyone needs a walkthrough for it, here's one: http://jayisgames.com/archives/2012/03/fixation.php. Only stages that gave me trouble was 2-6 and 3-5. It did not occur to me to try falling off the edge and then jumping, or to stand on a table, so I had to use the walkthrough for those stages. Other than that, everything else came naturally, so 5/5 Stars from me.

Oh... my.. God... I realize halfway through her fall that this is where her story ends in "The Company of Myself." And that's where my heart skipped a beat and my stomach tightened. My God what a heart-wrenching story.

I didn't see anyone mention this before, so I'll ask: Now that we know the harmful effects of cigarettes, is there some rule that if they're in a game, they need to serve some completely unrealistic purpose? I remember in Metal Gear how if you selected the cigarettes after destroying the supercomputer, it would add 1,000 ticks to the countdown timer. (Lord knows how that worked, as Solid Snake didn't even have anything to light them with.) Nowadays it's pretty damn rare to see plain 'ol casual smoking. The last game I can remember with it was Time Crisis 4, and it was removed from the PS3 port.
