Right when I was wondering if Kathryn was going to die in this one I got to the end and then the map lit up and I was like "Oh no" and then I was sad

Really great game. The way character development works is just magnificent. I really like how the colors of the levels play with Kathryn's emotions. And I can especially appreciate the fact that (like Henry said) the lasers are just in her head and that when she is finally happy, the lasers won't hurt her anymore.

Someone made a comment saying that it would be cooler if the creators had just let people figure out the connection between this and Company of Myself. In a way, I agree with them. It would have been an interesting connection for the community to make, and an OMG moment for many. But myself? I'm not sure I would have made the connection myself. When he "multi-tasked" I'm not sure that I would have realised it was the same as CoM, even then, same creator, same ideas, possibly just a little nod to their other game. And lets face it, I can't remember the names of my co-workers, let alone characters from a game... even one like Company of Myself. So honestly, if they Hadn't told me it was a prequel, all those moments that connected the two, wouldn't have meant anything. And that moment at the end... you know the one, it wouldn't have made me want to cry.

EHUP Solution: Blow a smoke ring and than run to the fire alarm button!
The ring will follow you in your slipstream ^^

I'd have, like, ten times more respect for this game if they hadn't revealed the fact that it's a CoM prequel - if they'd left it for the community to figure out.

@Oake:
The dialogue is easily skipped; I enjoyed it. As it is a prologue; you should notice how different it is in comparison to The Company of Myself. There is nothing 'fake' or 'hollow' about the dialogue as you imply.
True: good philosophical gaming doesn't need dialogue for a story- but dialogue does not make a game bad. If you found the dialogue confusing, I have low esteem for your ability to hold attention. Nothing entirely against you, but I believed it to be quite fruitful and patient.
As a note on the topic of justification, philosophical games do not require justification- they require thought and connection without too much of someone holding your hand for every bit.
Above all, I will reiterate that fact that it /is/ a prologue. Whether all of this is in Kathryn's mind needs justification or not is mostly irrelevant.

puzzles were fun. text was too much of 'i want to make a game look like a story so i write a lot of stuff and make it look complicated so others believe its complicated and therefore good and worthy of being looked as something related to the process or writing too and not just gaming'. that sucked. good metaphorical/philosophycal games don't need a bunch of crappy text to mean something deep. if u have a good story, things actually happening, u don't need to confuse the spectator -gamer in this case- with a bunch of nonsense so they feel related to the main character which was just slightly confused. in any case, i got bigger issues than being bothered by some dude and i don't go around bothering others and getting them into rooms inside my mind full of lazor and stuff... u didn't even justify that. 3/5

At first I thought this was a bit heavy-handed in its delivery. Then I read the comments. Maybe the game was too subtle?

Really deep..I liked the stairs and ladders part. Puzzles are not too difficult. The small things like the stutter, the changing exit directions add to the feel of the game. 5/5!

Sorry, that smoke ring thing is driving me crazy in that level where you have to hit two on both sides of a automatic wall, and than a third right after. It’s really, *really* annoying. I’d call it a big design error. The way it is now, I have to stop, or I’ll want to destroy something. ſuckin think sucks!
Would probably be a 3-4/5, but this makes it a clear 1/5 until fixed.

Fun game. The smoke ring mechanic was very unsatisfying to use though. Particularly there was one level in the swamp section that required you to blow 5 perfect smoke rings in a row with perfect timing, not messing up the slightest bit once. The charge and release mechanic of the smoke ring made that section feel pretty crumby, took more tries that it aught to have.
Otherwise though, fun game.

I had up to level 23 done at a different pc. I've came home and used the lvl code, but it said my kongregate achievement is disabled. Is there anyway to continue where I was and still get the achievement?

How to "Triumph over the EHUP":
Just make a smoke ring and step into it, the ring will follow your path, just go quickly with it to the switch

the smoke ring thing is seriously annoying :/ why do game creator seem to think that requiring ridiculous split second timing make a game fun? it makes it nothing more than irritating and tedious. 1/5 a *huge* let down from the maker(s) of "The Company of Myself"
