I hate how spikes kill you when you're not touching them! Take velocity into account, so that he only dies when moving toward them, and instead of checking collision in a rectangle around him, check for collision in a circle!

spikes should only kill you when you're moving towards them. I hate it when I'm jumping off a ledge with spikes nearby and I die. ALSO, SUPER IMPORTANT, VOIDEKA IS RIGHT! You MUST fox that because people hate lag.

It's a shame you have such bad garbage collection. The game gets laggier and laggier the farther along you get, probably because you aren't properly cleaning up old resources. It's a shame, because it's an otherwise brilliant game.
