I was so disturbed when I realized (thanks to Kanicali) that the green box was really the green coffin-esque packaging. 10/10 Most emotionally impacting game ever. Amazing story. My greatest wonder is whether or not it's based on a true story...It very well could be.

This is literally the best in-browser game ever made. I don't need to reiterate what the others have already said by way of explanation, but I do want to reiterate that this game is beyond incredible. Probably one of the most sublime games of any kind I've played.

Also, him entering the green box at the end of every level probably signifies that he wants to be dead with her, and buried with her.

This game makes me sad. I am pretty sure that the guy is innocent. He probably buried her before anyone knew she was dead. When people found her grave, they assumed he killed her and buried her so there would not be any evidence. The psychiatrist probably just doesn't give him enough time to finish the story.

To finish the last level, just spam a bunch of clones, but keep pressing over and jumping commands for a few moments while you fall, and eventually you'll make it over.

@Audacity7392 keep cloning, and make all your clones jump in the pit. Eventually, the clones will allow you to double-jump to the exit

hey hey hey... wait a minute, how can I pass the stairway level? lol
those little shadow guys just refuse to jump up!
I must pass it before any deeper storyline lol

People are seeming having trouble with this.
Jack doesn't recall that he murdered Kathryn, despite what the records say. Which makes the conclusion that he murdered her.
She was found in their backyard buried in a green package, presumably that was the only thing he could find as a suitable coffin. Making the green box at the end of each challenge representing her grave also why he has a instinct to go into the door is because he wants to see her again.
He calls himself a loner, buthe is in solitary confinement in a Mental Hospital. The Psychologist says in his last report that he isn't to be released because in his state of mental illness he is a danger to himself and others.
So, he may blame himself for her death. But you'd imagine they'd have proof that proves he murdered her. Why, we don't know.
The spawn point flower represent the lone two flowers that he placed in her grave.
Keep it alive.

the story i got from this is that the man is a schizophrinic that is using his "friends" to help him through daily chalenges without real friends. The man's "friends" killed Kathryn. the flower represents the flower he gave to her when he first met her and the box is the thing that held her body

i've had the badge since the game came out in 09, but i still keep playing this game every couple weeks because i love it

Idk man... I didn't really find it too sad of a story, I usually just play these sort of things for the entertainment not the story. Odd but wonderful 5/5

This game is truly one of the best I have seen, the emotional storyline and challenging gameplay make it one of the best I've played 6/5. The maker of the game is a genius

It is pretty good, but it has a few weak points. First, playing such a game in browser seems like an insult to me. It's pretty similar to Braid and I cannot imagine playing Braid in a small window inside a browser. And second, it is too short and we don't get to know the main character's thoughts too well, the script could go a bit further imho. Well, other than that, it's pretty nice - I liked the game part itself too, though again, it could be more complex.

This game was truely incredible. I have never seen ojne with such depth. Never one that touches what truely constitutes real life.

This game makes me cry at the ending every time. The thought of Jack being left alone and misunderstood, people believing he's mad when he's just lonely. I think Kathryn died of her own accord and not murdered by him, just seeing her dead sent Jack off and he did things like burying her in a green package that might have suspicious implications.

That was absolutely brilliant. I felt as though I was on an existential trip the whole time... would love it if there ends up being a sequel.

well it was hard and very sad but i beat it :) with a little cheating lol jumped over and over again over myself lol at the end my eyes watered a bit and i saw he remembered the shrink... i thought to myself :) life is great never being alone, and then now after this all the plot was remarkable and the game was very impresive for something made by only a few ppl and a handful of testers... i myself think you should make even larger games maybe console related games or even disk drive games but those are completly different and take much more time, dont forget now i said completly different

Very sad story; his object in the levels is always to get to the green box, which he describes as a friend. I agree with Kanacali that the levels ARE pictures/questions that he is going through with the shrink, and I think that in all of them he is trying to get to his dead wife but each time he has to go through a different challenge. Also wanted to point out that in the debriefing it says he killed the wife, and on the last level with the wife he does kill her.
